"why am I like this?" What? Adorable? Getting really into the theme music is part of the process! If you don't rock out to BtVS theme, or slow dance to Angel... do you even HAVE a soul?

It's always bothered me how David is treated. He's a sweet guy, brave and generous. He's smart, kind and more than a little adventurous. But because he's socially awkward, he's treated as disgusting and that treatment SEEMS to be seen as totally justified. The irony is that it's sadly all too common a treatment for men who don't conform to certain social expectations... So it's a trope based on reality... and exploited rather starkly by bad actors today (taking advantage of vulnerable, lonely and insecure men to produce rather shitty cultural values rendering human interaction down to simple transactions) Your breakdown is WAY more generous (and largely matching my own opinions on the subject) but to me it always smacked of "gross, a nerd" being somehow a mature position.

Nabbit is played by David Herman, who's best known in the cult film, "Office Space". He was a regular on the sketch comedy series, "Mad TV" and has done voice work on "King Of The Hill", "Futurama", "The Great North" and "Disenchantment". Though he looks like the late John Ritter from the Buffy episode "Ted", they're not related.

Charles Gunn and Alonna Gunn was born in 1978. They're 22 on Angel season 1.

The two other thing I know that J. August Richards is in is Agents of SHIELD and Good Burger. Kate is a homicide detective just because she's a cop doesn't mean she's involved in every crime that happens.

I also recall him being some kind of assassin on an episode of another series. Don’t recall the show. I remember he kill his target which were the parents but a little girl saw his face so he was hunting her down. Now it’s bugging me that I don’t recall the show. 😠

LA is a very big place and her jurisdiction is probably a small section of it. She can’t be everywhere at once, even if she’s the only one looking into supernatural stuff.

As I said at the beginning of the season, Angel is the vampire show done right. The writing is good and the character arcs are impressive in the way that they are executed. You can see many of the concepts that were used in later shows, primarily the Arrowverse shows. It will only get better from here. BTW hope that there's nothing seriously wrong with your shoulder.

I think Warzone is a pivotal episode as we are introduced to Gunn. We see Gunn as the ultimate streetfighter, even prepared to kill his own sister after she has been turned. Interesting that Angel calls himself Angelus in this episode making him even more badass. A really good stand alone episode with the introduction of Charles the highlight.

GUNN!!! What's interesting about Gunn and his crew is they wouldn't care Angel has a soul because vampire mythology doesn't interest them past them learning how these creatures that drink blood and turn people can die. Telling them Angel has a soul wouldn't be the same as Buffy finding out. Angel had to rescue Gunn's sister, Alonna, in order for them to let him go with the warning to not return.

This first season is really about trying to figure out what the show is going to be. I've always assumed they had bigger plans for Kate at first and sort of changed them on the fly when they realized they weren't making a monster of the week detective show. But that's pure conjecture.

He was squatting back then, I believe. It makes more sense if you don't want other vampires finding you - no paper trail that would come with legal ownership. You just have to be ready to leave at a moment's notice in case the legal owner decides to do something with the place.

Great reaction and this was an ep where it felt like the writers were trying things out to see if they would stick with the audience as the show was still finding it's footing for the most part, and back in the day I too thought that the Kate character would've been used more but the showrunners were still trying to nail down a direction for the show..... A CTU for you today, and onto the next reaction! Keep em coming...

I think the youngest was no more than 16. The oldest probably low to mid 20’s. Though actors don’t always act their age so how old they’re supposed to be could be up for speculation.

Theyre not all 16, the youngest of the group is 16.

I don't think they ever specified how old Gunn is supposed to be either. But I guess that's more useful for the writers for greater flexibility.

I seriously don't get why people like Kate. Like I loved her too... for the first 10 episodes. The second she learned Angel was a vampire, she just became increasingly annoying to me. lol
