Don Ameche is the absolute master of the staccato, rapid-fire, yet relevant questions.

I agree. I've always liked the way he shoots his questions off, and he seems a good sport.

No football fans on the panel. Andy Robustelli was a great player who eventually was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Steve Allen was a lucky man to be married to the gorgeous Jayne Meadows. Contestant #2 in game 2 was stunning.

Why get the world's yo-yo champ and not have her demonstrate even a single thing for television?

I loved Tom's question, "What's the difference between being on-staff and having staph?" Now that you can see it spelled out, you can see that it was a very funny question, but it went over the heads of every one of the contestants (and perhaps everyone else on the panel as well). LOL

I never got how this show went from giving $250 per wrong answer to $50 in the 1970s

I think it's because in these episodes the $1,000 was split three ways, but in the 1970s if there were four wrong guesses the person would get $500 but the other two got nothing.

"I took a turn for the nurse"...Tom Poston should have credited W. C. Fields for that line.

I recognized contestant two in game one right away. He played the hitman mailman in the movie Three Days of the Condor, a 70s movie starring Robert Redford.

Yup! I thought that was Nicholson(Hank Garrett) who did some wrestling himself.

Garrett later played the hitman mailman in Three Days of the Condor, starring Robert Redford in the 1970s. He's still alive at 89 years old.

Tom's joke about the difference between being "on staff" at a hospital and having staph fell really flat.

I was surprised that *none* of them knew the difference, including the "real nurse."

I recognized one of the impostors in game one immediately. In today's world, he probably would have been too famous to be an impostor. It was largely due to a game he played in about 6-7 months earlier (on the losing side).

I didn’t recognize Andy Robistelli but I recognized Hank Garrett from “Car 54 Where Are You?” I’ve seen Y A Tittle and Tom Landry as impostors as well. Good stuff!
