Thank you guys for jamming our new EP, "And I Return To Nothingness".
I don't usually make playthroughs, but a lot of people have been asking for one so:
**This is a one take performance, there are no layers, no doubles, no edits.**
What you see here is exactly what you'd get live
I hope you enjoy!
.
If you'd like me to do more playthroughs off the "A.I.R.T.N" EP, let me know in the comments.
Like/comment/share subscribe if you like what you hear.
.

As a classically trained singer I just cannot believe this man's abilities.... his breath control, understanding of where to place any given phrase in the mask, the chest, the head... to call him "Gifted" doesn't do him justice. This is years of work at a level few achieve. I bet many operatic composers would have given anything to have someone like this to write for!
@Wixceee
@Wixceee Жыл бұрын
You should really watch the stuff Will did with The Charismatic Voice if you havent already. She did a reaction as an opera singer, an interview with Will and even stuck one of thoes small cameras down his throat to watch his vocal folds. its all on her youtube channel! It was so interesting as someone not in the music world to see, so i can only imagine what an actual singer would think!

It's not about his endurance, it's more about controlled air flow. Technique reduces strain, just like in singing. It's easier to be at aroud 70-80 percent constantly than try to push to 90 or 100 every now and then. This way, you never run out of air or have to strain your throat.

Other people covering these vocals doesn't mean that should have red face or stuff. The red face comes from straining and pushing the vocals through, which is a totally incorrect way of doing it. @@ryanb_kc8524 …..Courtney? I respect your opinion, perhaps with some well constructed songwriting fitting to her and his styles could be interesting. But personally idk why you’d bring her up haha. Shes objectively less than an amateur in comparison to him. Given, Both of their respective bands have vastly different styles which suit each their individual styles of Vox . Imo it would likely be a challenge to build a song that would compliment both Courtney and Will effectively, there would have to be clean singing sections, in order for her to have a fair chance to shine, cuz if it was strictly just the two trading between screaming duties, it would probably end up sounding like someone whipping a crossfader switch back and forth between Led Zeppelin and Greta Van Fleet haha.

If this performance has taught us anything, it's that you don't need to be loud or overtly aggressive to produce quality sounds. It's all about core strength, breath control, and tongue placement. Will, you are an absolute master of the craft and your technique is, dare I say it, even more impressive than the sounds themselves. Thank you. You're a true inspiration.

this honestly sounds better than tjhe studio version he has so many layers of vocals in it and he doesn't need them this is so much more clear sounding and you can definitely appreciate his skills a ton more

While I find that the layers in the studio version definitely create a really fuckin tangible dark feeling atmosphere/ambience, I must say that I agree with what you've said. The raw tone and rattle and depth and sharpness in his vocals are too fuckin consistently solid to be *potentially* missed by layering. Maybe a better blending of the two? Perhaps a couple of decibels added to the raw tracks underlying the layers or something...who knows? He's a fucking raging torrent of consistent and ruthless vocal tones/textures.

I fuckin hate blended screams. It just ruins the power and sounds corny to me. The fact that his cover is this caliber in a single take and the released studio version sounds the way it does is ridiculous. Why it wasn’t released closer to this sound is beyond me.

2:58 screaming "fall with me". The absolute control to seamlessly go from a high, down to a sick low and then immediately back up to an extended high? All while screaming? And make it look flawless? I have to say, Will Ramos has quickly become one of my favorite vocalists. His vocal range and control of his voice is just fucking ridiculous! This is the level I one day aspire to get at.

I come back to this vocal playthrough time and time again because there are so many unique, tiny, thoughtful little additions and flourishes he has in here that are not on the record. I’ve also seen them perform this live three times now, and Will always delivers, so clean and true to the sound we are used to, while also giving each performance something unique as well if you pay attention. That’s something I love about live music - is watching artists mix it up a little bit here and there - gives them a way to keep it interesting as I’m sure they go a little bored of playing the same songs night after night, but it also gives the fans a chance to hear their favorite songs in a new, unique way as well. Anyway, Will’s vocals are unmatched in any setting - whether studio or live and I’m just thankful to be living in the same timeline as Lorna Shore’s peak creative era. 🔥

Close up the nose and push a lot of noise off the top of your mouth. idk any of the names for the parts of the mouth and throat but i know how to push the air, that’s how i replicate his vocals. Also, make a duck face with your lips and it’ll help with the lower tones to sound more like him. I can’t do it open mouth like he can but that’s how i do it. A lot of manipulating noise through your mouth to hit different areas and pushing from the chest past the throat into the mouth. ALSO at the end, don’t try to do the snarls in your nose, do them in your throat. A lot of people i’ve seen will gag from building up mucus but you can avoid that by making the noises in your throat instead of your sinus
