To the Manor Born is a BBC television sitcom that first aired on BBC1 from 1979 to 1981. A special one-off episode was produced in 2007. Starring Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles, the first 20 episodes and the 2007 special were written by Peter Spence, the creator, while the final episode in 1981 was written by script associate Christopher Bond. The title is a play on the phrase "to the manner born," from Shakespeare's Hamlet ("Though I am a native here and to the manner born, it is a custom more honoured in the breach than the observance".)

This is so UNTRUE. Penelope Keith looks marvellous and has been on the front page of The Times only this week with The Queen. She is slim and lovely still.

I do laugh at this presenters introduction, where he talks about joining us by the camp fire. I don’t think there are many camp fires on most cities in the world.

I think the term that is used as “having aged terribly “ is a totally insulting and misleading description of a wonderful cast of actors who in my opinion aged very gracefully. I watched that programme faithfully over the years and respect the cast & producers that brought us such a lovely sitcom that brightened the lives of all who viewed it.. Many of the surviving cast aged beautifully as and I am appalled that you use the term “Aged Terribly” just to get viewers. If the company that produced this robotically charged voiceover think they’re smart. I suggest as they check the mirror and assess their own decline into advancing year and in time to their individual old age symptoms. I would also suspect this was no U.K. production. Just some sad bits that seek recognition for whatever.

It would help if you spoke a little slower as you have an accent that is hard to understand or are we hearing an automated recording? Please don’t be critical of people whether dead or alive; surely you would want good comments, not threats of being reported. Maybe, this sort of thing is best left to the professionals who have compassion!!
