I think the most breathtaking part will be that it would feature SolarBalls since it will take place in space, and that US will be gettin' into space before Soviet Union does. Impressive, MrSpherical!

@@emmettcashion3961 no the third astronaut was in a module orbiting the moon. The reason is that once the two astronauts were down they would use the moon lander to take off then they would dock to the module. Due to the complexity of this by necessity they needed one person to stay in the module. Fun fact the person in the module would be referred to as the loneliest person since they are all alone in space for several days.

I cant imagine in real life the pressure all the scientist, engineers and all the NASA employees have during the space race. The soviets have the advantage in those years. In real life they put some information on the news paper to recruit astronauts for the Apollo missions or they simply recruit airforce pilots. Mr espherical have the great series of any historical events in real life with a comedian style.

Hey MrSpherical I have a cool video idea hear me out What if America turn into an empire today. I even have a cool flag design for it. It would look like the original flag with black rectangle in the top left corner with small yellow stars on the edge with big blue star in the middle with an eagle head in the blue star. For the 13 stripes it will be in a pattern like this black, white, blue, white, black and repeat. For America himself he will have the flag design of course and he will have his sunglasses but you can see the eyes just a little bit and wearing a blue general hat. Thanks for hearing me out.

there was A LOT of rockets blowing up troughout the 50s . . so the success of saturn v is somewhat down to luck and to cut it short: first 10 appolo missions were UNCREWED missions for testing and reconasaince . . it's similar thing whith any new rocket altho the larger and more adwanced it is, the longer it will take . . so expect like another 5 years of test missions whith the spacex starship before they get to their part of the artemis program

USSR’s reaction is pretty inaccurate. Soviet government briefly congratulated them, and that's it - no huge attention to it. It was not sign of defeat or admission or anything, it was pretty OK at the time - for example, US congratulated the Soviet Union for Yuri Gagarin becoming first man in space. The newspapers had literally a couple of sentences on them about Apollo-11 landing on the Moon (not on front page obviously) like it’s no big deal and that was it. USSR at the time was more focused on spacecraft launches rather than human landings. There were a couple of times when Soviet government tried to duplicate the feat, but after a couple of failures, they just stopped and continued with other achievements, like first spacecraft on Venus or first space station in space. It was really uninterested in US Moon landing and it had no significant effect on them. Cooperation and Soyuz-Apollon program were made largely due to policy of détente that started in late 60s (time of Apollo-11 landing), not because USSR "finally admitted that they always needed to cooperate in space" or anything like that.
