To use OEM or Non-OEM Controllers?

I use Ranco is the same as a Drexel will take his place recent cooler are freezer they have a good tech support Ashley's owned by I think Robert Shaw also can you use 18 gauge thermostat wire if the wires on the thermistors ain't long enough I used a couple they were fine

I pretty much use dixells on everything. If you know how to wire them and go through the settings (which is very simple)

Can't get those controllers from ranco I don't have the number over the counter United Refrigeration try one

So why are the heaters not working? No way there’s 2-3 bad dixells in a row . All it does is send 115 hot leg out on terminal 7 , if you have 115 there then there’s another issue

And here lies in the problem in todays service world. I was sent on this because there have been multiple problems with this unit. I do not know how many Dixel controllers have been changed. All I know, with Hussman factory support, that the Universal replacement Dixel was not powering the relay for the defrost heaters. So that makes one Dixel Controller bad. The one in the box is for a cooler, not a freezer so I cant use that one. I will have a video followup after I change the the replacement OEM controlller. Dixel can be easy, especially on cooler s and certain freezers. No doubt, this is a previous techs incompetence and wiring the unit he wanted it to be. when I am thrown into situations like this, I start from scratch and calll the factory and follow their direction. The first thing he said is "why do technicians install OEM controllers? I replied....I don't know. He said we need to start from scratch and install factory parts. Thats where I am now
