As an avid character switcher, if i don't have a projectile i usually focus on movement. Pot hammer fall yrc is an easy move forward with armor for a PB. Heat knuckle has bad knockdown in this game? Icpm yrc for your oki. Got bursted out during your Slayer combo? Airdash foot lose journey yrc

With Faust you can do door yrc for a cheeky approach. You can also do yrc so with far slash if you have 25 meter or below. When I played xrd Faust I quite liked the super since it was pretty fun. Doing f.s rrc into scalpel thrust is also pretty neat.

Pot meter usage is clear, hammerfall then RC. Did you mess up and did it on block? no worries, you are safe now, did you do it early? congrats, do a buster or knuckle.

As someone who's absolutely in the beginner camp of GG... most of the time I feel starved of Tension despite not spending it on half the things you can do with it. What I am spending it on, is Advancing Guard- I mean Barrier Block- I mean Faultless Defense. I can't help it, tick damage from specials is the most annoying thing in existence and getting out of blockstrings is always first priority over actually considering what resources I need to win the match.

To this consider that faultless, despite the name, is very much a double edged sword. Since it puts you in block stun for longer an overdependence on it can actually lock you down a ton. It might be an idea to forget about meter entirely until you're down to 25% of your life bar. It's certainly not a great way to think about your bar forever but might just help turn a bad habit into a slightly better bad habit.

I'll be honest, I think part of it comes down to nostalgia. +R is an awesome game, if Xrd disappeared overnight I wouldn't even be all that bothered because +R is there, but something about Xrd draws me in and keeps me in more than +R. I'd love to argue that it's got something to do with the pace? but IDK, I like them both a lot, Xrd just sticks

I personally see it mostly as, I prefer +R's cast to Xrd, and think that I'll have more options that I'll actually enjoy playing compared to Xrd, but Xrd's game pace is exactly what I've wanted from a fighting game since forever, even if I'm probably going to stick to Sol, Johnny, Sin, Leo, etc
