Considering the amount of idiotic lionfish sympathy comments, I bet more than a few have had lion fish as pets in a tank, and it was people like them who started the problem when they released their pet lion fish after it got to big into the local ocean, because they couldn't do the right thing and kill it.

Being that the lion fish is an environmentally invasive species, it’s better to kill the lion fish and feed it to other species that would use it to survive. There are no known predators in the Caribbean to the lion fish. Educate yourself

So far I’ve seen video of a moray eel, Grouper and now this a couple were killed by a diver and “feed” to another fish but the Grouper was obviously hunting and positioning himself with no diver interference so maybe the “no natural predators thing is changing as other species figure out how to hunt them like the grouper?

☑️ There are some restauranteurs who procure and cook lionfish, and sell the dishes to their patrons. That's a great solution, just like when people hunt and eat wild pigs. Hopefully there are also restaurants who cook wild pigs.

@@rgruenhaus Yeah, apparently there are some divers who attempt to teach the various predatory fish how to safely capture and eat lion fish.

people might miss the point of the video, actually the lion fish is an invasive specie in many aquatic environment. For their wide range diet they can can effect any environment severely. So maybe by doing this they can decrease the numbers of lion fish, while benefiting another creature.

But like the several humans who were the first to learn they can't eat something and can't pass on that knowledge unless someone saw them die after eating it. How many animals died learning they couldn't eat frogs that are red?

@@rgruenhaus I see your point, but the lion fish is actually venomous not poisonous, so ingesting it will cause no harm to other creatures, the venom is harmful when its injected, so when they get stung with its spines.

+Boost junkie They are destroying the ecosystem. They are eating all the species that keep the coral reefs healthy. Once all of those species are eaten, the coral reefs will die in a few years or less. You know the parrotfish? They are regular prey for Lionfish. They keep coral reefs healthy and produce the sand for our beaches. Coral reefs and parrot fish prevent the erosion of beaches on the Caribbean and Western Atlantic coasts. Lionfish are a plague. Death in nature is never humane. I would hope that you know just how important coral reefs are to the ecosystem. If not, then google it or read a book.

Exactly. Because they are invasive. They’re taking over everything and destroying all different kinds of species 🐠 🐟.Even the fish that feed on the algae of coral reefs . Throwing the whole ecosystem off balance. They have no natural predators and breed like crazy. They’re like roaches!
