So here's the thing. I don't exactly have a passion for singing but I wish I had a good voice and maybe it will become my passion but I can't really practice because I'm always home with my family and I would only do the vocal exercises and singing if I'm home alone because I'm horrible at singing and I don't want anyone to hear...

xx Jemma xx I'm not that good at singing either and my family is always at home, too. But I really wanted to learn how to sing so I really TRIED not to care about them hearing me sounding like a dying whale haha. And here I am, half a year later, after practising around 30 mins a day almost every day and I've improved so much! (Even though I'm like ridiculously shy, sometimes even when I'm all alone I'm afraid to sing louder than a whispering voice) I kept up the routine and even though I wasn't feeling like wanting to sing all the time, now it's comforting and relaxing for me and I don't care if I can't hit all the notes well, the most important thing is that I have fun while doing it. So even if you don't have a crazy passion for singing, you could still try and after a relatively short amount of time (1-2 months) you'll see some improvement and that'll keep you going:)

Love this because I too was once a "bad singer." I just kept practicing over and over again until I became adequate and I keep getting better all the time now. One of the helpful things for me is just doing vocal exercises every day for 3 - 5 minutes.

Ισαβέλα I’ve been singing for 10 years. Other than keep practicing (which I know can be the most boring advice), I think another helpful thing is to play in front of an audience as much as possible. Even if you don’t have an actual show to play, go live on Instagram and just play a few songs (I just finished doing that myself!). Do you write your own songs?

It’s not that amazing but I hope to get better. I want to learn how to sing have good voice control and I wanna do it in a short time since I have to record myself singing my favorite song for choir. My daily go-to is DEFINITELY hands down JacobsVocalAcademy! I start off with the vocal fry video to allow for cleaner sounding notes, then I either do the quick vocal exercise video or the regular longer length vocal exercise video but he has EVERY exercise and more and it's all straight forward! I can almost guarantee Justin Burke himself would've used these as daily exercise videos too if they came out when he started because I've been practicing with the AApproach videos he mentioned before I found out about JVA. I honestly recommend Roger Burnley as a vocal coach. I m also a vocal coach and I ve been studying Brett Manning’s programs for a long time and I improved a lot , but at some point I got a cyst on my cords. And I have been really carefull with technique, warm up daily , not pushing , singing on mix etc. That was the moment I started questioning why Brett says in every single video his voice is tired from teaching and making excuses about him not being in shape. That moment I found Roger Burnley s channel and decided to take a lesson. I discovered that my mix is now so much stable and I can use more volume and power, and my voice feels better every day. I know it sounds like someone s paying me to write this , but it s just my excitement and passion talking. It took me years to find the best tecnique out there and I m so happy I finally did. That s why I wanna share all this with all the passionate people who wants to improve but also be healthy. :)
