David was well prepared for this trip. He did his homework. 👏👏👏. Knew quite a lot unlike Peru. Other David would have been a better guide. He is calm and takes his time when explaining something. On a different note, why didn't they get knives to cut the meat? It's disgusting to see Peru using his fingers to break up the meat, licking them and then putting those same fingers back in the food. Very very unsanitary, ugh, yuck, eew. These videos in Tobago are really great. Quite a big change from what he did in Trinidad where it was all curry and food. Why wasn't he taken around Port of Spain in the daytime to see all the historical buildings, the red house, the PM 's office, the president's residence, NAPA the biggest cultural building in PoS. Let him see how people go about their daily lives. To all the people who accuse other people of being racists because Peru gets criticized for all the curried food, just look at the difference between what David did in Tobago and what he did in Trinidad. Don't you all think that they could have arranged more and better things for him in Trinidad. Why didn't they take him to see the pitch lake, the temple by the sea and all the other historical buildings, Naparima hill that helps to block off strong winds? Now if I missed any of these things, I stand corrected but there are so many more interesting things other than food that make Trinidad and Tobago unique. After all, David is into people and culture. Just because he is a foodie doesn't make everything else minor. It all goes hand in hand. David, you are commended on your knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago.👏👏👏. YOU are doing a great job.

@@Davidsbeenhere keep up the good work. I hope that you did an overview of your trip to Trinidad and Tobago at the end. Nobody can doubt that you had a very successful trip. You should go back and explore all the things that they neglected to show you. Arrange with David to take you around again. David is very calm and knowledgeable and he looks like he would be a better host. And I saw your wife and 2 daughters (one was still a baby) on vacation in one of your previous videos. Take them with you next time to get that clean, fresh island breeze. You did your homework because I was born and lived in Trinidad until 1976 and there were things that I learned through you and this trip. Never been to Tobago so I saw it for the first time. Imagine that eh. Great job and keep up the good work. P.S: I checked out your visits to other countries and they are very enjoyable to watch. Couldn't believe that one in Iran where they put the hot rocks in the milk to boil it. Amazing!!! I just wonder what your stomach feels like at the end of the day.🤔🇹🇹🇨🇦

Good Video BUT O' Lord this Attention Hungry/Seeking Chef Peru guy AGAIN! Best you give him the channel, am sure he will take it.
@JudyT8682 жыл бұрын
@@thatswhatamsaying9750 yeah. In a previous answer to somebody's comment he replied that "he takes property and spouses. It's natural". He also made a comment to someone else that if she wanted to hear David talk, that she should go and watch David's other videos. Does anyone really know what kind of person this so-called chef is? He was in this for himself. Check out the credits in the info below the video and you will see Davidsbeenhere site as well as Peru and his girlfriend's sites are also listed. It wasn't Davidsbeenhere, it was Peru's been there. I bet that Peru will never patronize those vendors after this is all done. The guy made so many simple mistakes throughout the whole thing. Thank God David did his homework and came well prepared.

I remember when Zimmerman rated Trinidads bake and shark one of the best sandwiches he has ever had. I wonder generally what David thinks about the food in comparison regionally and internationally. It's very rare that there's a country with African and Indian cuisine.. we are only compared to Mauritius.
@Davidsbeenhere2 жыл бұрын
it sure is ;)
@JudyT8682 жыл бұрын
David surely loved the food. No other country, I believe can compare because they don't season their food like we West Indians do. They put whatever they cook unseasoned in the pot without washing and cleaning it, especially meats and put the salt and pepper on it when they are ready to eat it. So nothing compares. Seasoning, seasoning, seasoning. That's the difference. African and Indian cooking in the Caribbean is all about the seasoning.🇹🇹🇨🇦

David did the right thing by having a few trini guides. like Jason and David. NEVER come to trinidad alone and wonder! because You will most likely get robbed from either a thief or a vendor. Which they try to give you a tourist price. Having Jason and David there prevents this. Only david and people on his level can find such good company. If you're a common tourist, be careful. David is 100% safe. My recommendation when visiting our country is to simply make friends with decent people and tag them along especially if you plan on making alot of purchases. Always have a trini by your side. Our country isn't as lovely as you think. Crime rate is very high. BE SAFE PEOPLE AND PLAY IT SAFE!

Sheryl Sutherland: I agree with everything you said. I don't understand why Peru keeps licking his fingers and putting them back in the food. (My mother used to tell us not to juta ,(don't know if you ever heard that word) the food by doing what Peru is doing in all of these videos. Can you imagine what he does in his own kitchen? And for someone who calls himself a chef, he should practice better hygiene and manners. It very unsanitary when he does that and David has to share in it. Ugh. I hope Peru is reading these comments. He could learn a thing or two.

@@JudyT868 I've never heard that term before. My mother's side is Trinidadian of Venezuelan heritage and my father is black American
@JudyT8682 жыл бұрын
@@sherylsutherland1183 : yeah. It's slang from the French word "adjouter," meaning "to add". So what Peru was doing every time he licked his fingers and put them back in the food, he was adding his saliva to it, hence the word "juta". My mother was Trinidadian East Indian and my father was Trinidadian Chinese mixed. Ask around and see if anybody ever heard the word. Now you can use it too.🇹🇹🇨🇦

David which countries cuisine is the most delicious that you've ever had? I'd say Trinidad and Tobago right? Not being unfair/biased here, but I'm a Trinidadian living in Germany and I've experienced almost every type of cuisine from all over the world and always circles back to Trinidad cuisine. It's so infused with so many vibrant herbs and spices and variety. Also to answer your question why Trinis put ketchup on everything, it's not only our food are fantastic, our fruits and vegetables are in a class of it's own. Our locally grown tomatoes tastes really delicous and flavourful, thus our ketchup tastes alot better than ketchup elsewhere and it enhances our food as a condiment. I know quite a few Germans who bring back ketchup everytime they go to T & T.
