Good to see another review from you Kevin! I really enjoy this one and I’m on my second bottle of the Tobermory 12. It does need some time to open up but it has a wonderful oily mouthfeel and the most prominent notes I get are herbal, floral, with pears and apples in the background.

Great notes, thanks! Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend much time with the Tobermory. The bartender at the Royal Scots Club, our hotel for the night, did appreciate my contribution to her collection. Cheers!

Nice one 👍 I've got a sample of this lined up for review and looking forward to it 😋 Hope you're enjoying Edinburgh 😀

Thanks, Don. I'd love to hear your thoughts after you try it. Unfortunately, we were only in Edinburgh for a couple of days and we've been in Cagnes-sur-Mer for the past month (kzbin.info). Heading to Italy tomorrow. Cheers!

You are probably no longer in Edinburgh, but another WhiskyTube channel I follow is The Grail. The ladies who run that channel also own and run a wine, beer and spirits store in Callander, UK. They really know their scotch.

I've watched their videos and you're right, they know their Scotch. You're also right about Edinburgh, we were there for only two days. We've lived in Cagnes-sur-Mer for the past month and head to Genoa tomorrow (kzbin.info). Cheers!

This blends beautifully with Deanston virgin oak.

I've never tried blending those two. Interesting.

@@WhiskyRiffs you need a little more of the Deanston or the tobermory totally takes over.

I have the Tobermory 12 and I thought it tasted OK but was pricey.

Thanks. I didn't dislike it, but it didn't inspire me either. Cheers!

It is a bit of a Cameleon , perhaps because the various oils, alcohols and hybrids components do not coalesce well or metamorphose / vary with air/oxugen exposure; same class of 'weirdness' as Craigellachie, Springbank, Lomond or Pultney perhaps ... (( btw, there is an old UK law in 1883 that dictates slow blues MUST BE of at least 45-60 seconds : outro OR intro alike, LOL . Have a good trip.))

A chameleon, huh? Could be the reason it was so nondescript for me. Cheers on the 1883 ruling. ;) And there's no end to our travels right now. Thankfully, we are really enjoying every country.
