Ehh idk about that one they’re both hilarious characters but Tobias actually says stuff he doesn’t mean to or doesn’t realize. Michael knows what he’s saying a good majority of the time he’s just either a dick about or people don’t like it. He just tries to hard but he knows what he’s going for.

@@gavinthomas1745 Michael Scott doesn't know what he's doing when he opens his mouth. Multiple times throughout the show, he acts hurt and shocked whenever someone gets angry at his actions/words. Michael never truely means to hurt anyone, (other than Toby) he's just very socially inept.

To someone whos never seen this show before there would be so much explaining.. The fact that this man is a father who only speaks in unintentional euphamisms, he has a daughter named Maeby whom he neglects, he is a down-on-his-luck actor whos just gotten the opportunity to play the character Thing and so is covered in rocks. He lives in a model home. His license plate is Anustart for "A New Start" but of course everyone reads it as "Anus Tart". And thats literaly just the background to set up for this 3 minute series of jokes. Its crazy how much the writers must have thought ahead.

I think the main thing Season 4 got wrong was the editing. The jokes and writing were phenomenal in season 4, and the story was woven together amazingly despite the timing difficulties with the cast. The only thing missing was the momentum of the first 3 seasons. Given the show was originally broadcast on TV in 20 or so minute episodes, it had to be executed in a specific way. Season 4 draws out scenes that would've otherwise been cut down or changed entirely. Its still amazing, but a tiny bit more awkwardly paced.
@SteveBluescemi
@SteveBluescemi 2 жыл бұрын
That's exactly it. Even this scene, which is one of the funniest S4 scenes, could've been significantly punched up with tighter editing. Like, did we need to watch the tv crew for like 30 seconds before Ron Howard explains "but there was a tv crew there"? No!

"Let's entrap a local..." is sheer brilliance. The men you saw on 'to catch a predator' usually avoided jail. They were legally entrapped, and could not be prosecuted.
@Helladamnleet
@Helladamnleet 4 жыл бұрын
>They were legally entrapped False. To be entrapped you must be doing something you wouldn't have already done. It's like how if your hooker ends up being a cop it isn't entrapment because you were already going to buy a hooker. Now if they cop came up to you and CONVINCED YOU to pay her/him for sex, that would be entrapment.

@@sld1776 that’s bull. The only ones who walked were the ones involved in the Katy. Texas case where a DA they caught committed suicide when they went to confront him. The Katy DA dropped all the other cases. The majority of people caught on the show did some jail time and are now registered sex offenders.

@@sld1776 There's a difference between most people walking and most people were legally entrapped. There is no evidence most people on that show successfully argued entrapment. It doesn't exist.
@riffdex

@@sld1776a lot of them walked because they (while dumb) were at least not so dumb as to just talk to police and give them all the facts, a lot of them got lawyers and did the correct strategy of avoiding consequences, by admitting to nothing or little to nothing. You act like all those people got off because they got in front of a judge and their lawyer argued it was entrapment successfully.
