my ex husband was a recruiter for the Marne Corp when we married back in 1980..I remember being told by one of his COs that the hardest job in the Corp was a Marine wife...he wasn't lying ..I raised my 4 kids mostly alone..what kept me going was the other Marine wives ..my family was almost 700 miles away so the Marine families become your family....on the video showing him getting called up if you don't focus on him being in danger but look at the wife's face knowing she is going to be sitting alone waiting and worrying until he comes home and the kids knowing how hard it is. The song makes me straight up sad..worse than this is a song called Im already there by Lonestar I cry ever time I hear it

I suggest reacting to, "God Bless the USA' with Lee Greenwood, Home Free and the US Air Force. It is a magnificent song and this version is untouchable!! I remember when this song came out and every single time it came on the radio - my family would sing it 'loud & proud' at the top of our lungs, with just as much patriotism as a American. The song & it's message seemed universal and it made to difference that we were Canadian - it felt like our song too!

I just looked up the tipple of the day, can't get it here, as per, so it'll have to go on the "one day when I get over there" list... also, I found a couple of locally made drops, but again, they can't be trusted to travel unaccompanied, so they'll have to be personally escorted to your general location, but that's probably gonna take a while... wish there was a better way of doin stuff... Where do I start? First off, I'm pretty comfortable with the idea that I've earned the right to think or say anything I want about military service. And fortunately, that right applies to anyone, thanks in large part to the defense of the Constitution of the United States, largely by the US military. And the irony here is that I had nothing negative to say about the song or its message. Secondly, here at BCR, you get an honest reaction. And an honest reaction means someone telling us how we're supposed to react can pound sand. Third, you, nor anyone else gets to tell me who or what I have to respect. Take it or leave it. - Keith
