The order should have been Terri, Jack, then Janet leaving the apartment and Janet looking back into the apartment since she had been living there the longest.

And besides Jack, she was the main character, not to mention a fabulous actress! I had immediately thought that very same thing!!

Or, they had Janet leave first because she was the FIRST roommate, then Jack because he was the SECOND roommate, and Terri because she was LAST? 🤔

Agreed. And when Janet looks back, they should have had a "memory sequence" of all their memorable moments with some sentimental music and then brought it back to the same scene of Janet looking back at the apartment as each of them leave

One of the best shows. I was 9 when this ended. I'm 47-48 now and I'm still getting watery eyes...lol.. Terri, (Priscilla ) her tears are definitely real. Our ending (man about the house) was just as sad but they ended it in a funny note😅 both are brilliant 👍🏻 all great humour.

This scene.. I haven't seen it since it aired in 1984. I was a young teenager at the time. My family watched Three's Company together for years and always looked forward to the new episodes. I distinctly remember all of us in the living room watching this scene.. and all of us sniffling. I wish there were more quality shows these days

Three's Company is my favorite sitcom of all time. I still miss the cast. How time flies. I still vividly remember watching the final episode. I actually missed watching the final episode when it originally aired on September 18, 1984. I actually happened to catch the rerun in 1988 on a Saturday afternoon in July when school was out in summer. Truly, a sad ending. I still watch the sitcom on KZbin, and I continue to laugh to this day. The best show ever.

I can believe it! "Three's Company" was a huge part of John Ritter's and Joyce DeWitt's acting career. It can be compared to graduating high school or college, in that one's cast members have become a second family for the actors, actresses, writers, directors, producers, crew members, etc.

The episode before this one when Janet announces to Jack she's getting married may be the most touching 2 scenes of this series. The kitchen scene followed by the living room scene when Janet cries on Jack's shoulder. There had to be some realism there of Joyce telling John through character she was going to miss working with him dearly.

@@ProfessorKenneth I like how the producers gave Jack and Janet their moment alone, prior to Teri walking into the living room and joining in. It was a moment to allow the two original characters of the show to say their good byes to each other. Perhaps had Suzanne "Chrissy" had departed on good terms, she could have made one final appearance at the wedding, just like Ron Howard "Richie" on Happy Days final episode.

What should've happened in this episode, When Mr. Furley(Ralph) is saying goodbye, his brother Bart shows up. Ralph: Bart. What are you doing here? Bart: I just wanted to check on the apartment before I put it up for rent again. Terri: Oh, it's in great shape. Ralph: Yeah, I made sure myself. Bart:(to Ralph) That's exactly WHY I came to check on it. Ralph:(laughing nervously and shaking it off) Well, anyway, Jack's moving out at just the right time. Bart: Why is that? Ralph: Well, he's cured. Bart: Cured of what? Ralph: Well, he's no longer... you know. Bart: Oh, I see. How does that make this the right time. Jack: Well, you said that you would never allow a man to live in the apartment with 2 girls. Bart: I never said that. Everyone: YOU DIDN'T?!!!! Bart: No, I don't care who lives in my apartments as long as they pay the rent... ON TIME. Ralph: But you told me that there was a rule that a guy can't share an apartment with 2 girls. Bart: No, I told you the previous owner of the building had that rule and that I was throwing it out. Weren't you paying attention when I told you that? Ralph: I... I guess not. Now I remember, your beautiful secretary walked in at that moment and I.. I guess I got so distracted that I must not have heard that part. Janet:(to Ralph) Oh, Mr. Furley! Jack:(so surprised) You mean I pretended to be gay for 5 years for no reason?! Ralph: Pretended?! Jack: Whoops. Bart: So, you went behind my brother's back, saying you were gay and made him feel very uncomfortable around you for 5 years?(Ralph nods angrily at what Bart says) Bart:(smiling wickedly at Jack) I like that. Ralph: Wait. What? Bart:(shakes Jack's hand) Good luck, Tripper. (leaves) Jack: Hey, he finally said my last name right. Janet: Yeah, Jack. Now let's leave before he comes back and mispronounces it again.

I thought Janet was more of a soulmate than any other girl . I don't watch the ending I barely wanna see janet get married . I always felt the producers went the wrong way and it showed tremendously. why would they hook Jack up with a woman didnt wanna marry yet Jack had women in the show he dumped esp the one who wanted a baby and more he dumped her but yet vicky say I dont wanna get married he accepted it like a mouse with no soul yet the entire threes company Jack was Always set of marrying being a dad an a family man yet they end the show flip the Script and Jack was in my opinion not fully Jack anymore I dunno who that dude was but he wasnt Jack trip fully is why the show died out of that whole show was one episode i liked which was when jack cooked for the stars out of all those episodes in season 1 maybe 3 i liked that is bad They couldve brought janet back and made them a couple but by the end of season one Jack and vicky was Over

It really should've been Chrissy, Janet and Jack at the end. All three actors deserved to be paid the same. The main attraction of Three's Company was the great chemistry and comedic timing of Suzanne, Joyce and John! The only other character that added to the chemistry after Chrissy and the Ropers left was Don Knotts!

I totally agree with you on 'Three's a Crowd'. If the producers haven't held a grudge against Suzanne Somers and her and John Ritter would have found a way to reconcile, Chrissy could have been Jack's wife. Due to Chrissy coming back into the series and how good she was, I believe the show would have survived. Jack's wife was too ordinary compared to the women he dated.

I believe the final should had all original cast members including the roopers. I never understood why they werent invited to the wedding at least for that one short part they should been there and would add more comedy to the wedding scene. Also made a deal with Suzanne Sommers as well to come for one episode only. She also could of been in the wedding scene. They could pick a better looking actress for Jack's girlfriend. He had so many gorgeous women in the show for the producers to pick a mediocre girl sorry not sorry. Or they could had a show with Jack and Larry bachelor's pad life with them both would have work and add Mr furrly in it. Or Jack and Janet would got married. They could change the ending and not repeat the same UK version ending.

It would have been a good ending to the show if all the original cast including Cindy and Elenor (the roommate before Jack) was at the wedding and Chrissy stuck around until the very end when they all were officially leaving the apartment. Then Janet and Chrissy looked back into the apartment. But the producers weren't thinking about the viewers, and they kept that grudge against Suzanne Somers. And I imagine the audience would have given Chrissy a standing ovation for her reappearance on the show.

I thought I had heard that the original plan, going into the spinoff "Three's a Crowd," was that Jack and Janet were going to realize they were in love and decide to get married. The network decided that they needed a clean break going into the new series and created a new girlfriend for Jack. It's really sad because John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt had great chemistry and I think it could have worked.

Pairing Jack with Vickie was a bad move I think. I never cared for her or for the spin-off "Three's a Crowd". The show failed miserably. I found it antipatico and stopped watching. Jack should have ended up with Janet and Terri (who was my favorite) should have remained in Santa Monica, close to the friends she loved. Incidentally, her tears at the finale were quite real. Mr. Furley was a riot, I think he was the icing on the cake. The end of a funny and warmhearted sitcom.

Except for the "Up in The Air" episode , the Terri era of episodes were some of the worst as the writers had alfeady used the best material during the Chrissy and The Ropers era. Once they left the show, it was a sign. And the final few episodes were some of the worst. including jack and the very unatrractive Vickie plus Janets literally overnight marriage. Pretty much they pulled the rug out from under Dewitt and Barnes since Threes A Crowd was Ritters show. Dewitt actually accidentally walked in to the auditions for Threes A Crowd. And of course it failed since Jack was now a boring cynical shell of his Threes Company role and his costars were equally as boring , they didnt bring back Dewitt ,Barnes, or Fell/Lindley even as guest stars. Just Richard Kline in 2 guest appearances - lousy as well.
