So glad for the release of Ektachrome. At least now if Fuji discontinue Provia and Velvia we still have one slide film left. In fact, the the Ektachrome release may cause a slide film resurgence and hopefully make Fuji reconsider.

Great video again, really loving these and finding out cool people to check out in the community. Since I tend to shoot low light stuff at sunset with landscapes I like to shoot Ektar, even though it's not a particularly fast film the colours it brings out when the sky is lit up right at the end of the day just look great.

Great video so far I have probably enjoyed the T-Max P3200 in low light the most. I loaded up my newly acquired yashica t4 super with some P3200 and shot my wedding reception. I got some awesome results. Delta 3200 is real nice in medium format as well. I took it camping this summer and shot it at 1600 turned out great.
@AwesomeCameras
@AwesomeCameras 6 жыл бұрын
nice! ive been hearing alot about the Delta shot at 1600, does it really cut down on the grain all that much?
@erichartke4331
@erichartke4331 6 жыл бұрын
AwesomeCameras there is a reduction in grain. I shot my last roll of delta in my Pentacon Six and it was pretty clean looking I could only see it when zooming in.

Definitely Delta 3200 for low light, coupled with a 50mm 1.2 On my F3 it gives me opportunities at very low light. Keep up the vlogs - love ‘em!

Honestly, I get the best results with cheap films that I feel no pressure to make things perfect. In low light, probably Tmax? Daylight, I love Kodak Gold 200. I love those warm tones. Another great wrap up, thanks for keeping the community up to date, my man.

I'm still super new to using film, so I've mostly avoided low light or any film higher than 400 bc I'm afraid it'll be too blurry or grainy. I just grab a tripod and extend the exposure time like a cheap skate.

TMax for me as well. If you are looking for ideas .... Any information about the least expensive way to develop. I am only doing black and white right now because I can do the negatives then do the scanning myself. I love film but it is spendy! Great channel, keep up the great work 👍

A: Lately it's T-MAX 3200 (TMZ), often pulled to 1600 and soupled in XTOL. It's got grain but I find I like the contrast better than Delta 3200 (which for me at 3200 or 1600 has been a contrast monster with monster sized and very razorey grain). If it's not too dark, the look of HP5 at 800 is pretty sweet so it's my "sort of dark" film.

No I haven’t tried pushing P800 TBH but from what I understand P400 pushes better. And it’s always given me gorgeous results. (My lab pushes via temp not time and that might make all the difference)

Enjoyed your video. I shot a good bit of low light on film. I like to use a Nikon FM because the viewfinder is easier for me to see in dim light, than some of my other Nikons. Normally I use an old 50mm F1.4 lens from the 1980s. I have been doing this for 40 years, but I still just an amateur doing it for fun not money. For shooting in bars or streets at night, I like to use Tri-X pushed to 1600 with Rodinal or HC-110. I have also used Ilford HP5 at times. As for developing, I do a semi stand method. Rodinal 1:100 for 90 minutes gives me consistent 1600 speed. I have examples of some photos I have taken and developed with this method, as well as detailed info on the developing, on my website. jefferyahoward.com
