Ain't that something about winter. Mornings are a nightmare...but by mid afternoon you are warm, you may even have a little sun.....but then you have to stop because it gets dark. (You go home with that toasty feel in the boots.......Can't beat that)

I rarely disassemble appliances these days, but I always pull the compressors out of refrigerators and freezers because they're usually a $5 bill plus a hand full of #2 copper. Do you ever bother doing that? It's usually just a few screws some wire, and jesus clips/13mm bolts holding the compressors in. It's so quick and easy and usually gains me a solid $7+ from each fridge I bring in.

Yes, the yard I go to is about 55 minutes away.. That's why I try to make the loads as big as possible. I have to handle it a little bit more. Because I just can't quickly go dump. But i'm kind of used to it.

@@Dancing_Alone_wRentals I'm not a coffee drinker. Actually, I don't really like it. And I used to rip apart electric motors but I found out it was a lot of work for very little reward.. It's just easier for me to throw it into. The garbage can sell it whole and move on to Something else. And I don't worry about the snow it just complicates things

I have in the past but most scrapyards the price is the price.. The yard i'm at now really appreciates the volume of scrap metal i bring in so I am treated me very well.
