Rest in peace, President Carter. I am Brazilian and I, along with my husband, have always admired you, Your Excellency. I am just a black woman who suffered from hunger as a child, but today, at 92 years old, I know that soon I will meet my late husband - also an admirer of your service - and I believe that we will be able to meet again.

I was born during Reagan's 1st term. So jimmy carter was president before I was born. Jimmy carter was a mediocre president meaning he was not great but not terrible. But a lot of the issues he dealt with during his tenure as president were beyond his control. He was a decent honorable man. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

Rest in peace, President Carter. Jimmy Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for work to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development. This is what the presidency should be about. He left behind an honorable legacy - that the next four years can never hope to achieve. January 9th is scheduled for his funeral and has been designated as a national day of mourning. January 20th - for at least half this nation - will be also be a national day of mourning - but for vastly different reasons.

Hostages in Iran for over 2 years And He did not do One dame thing about Until he lost And President Reagan came in and They where released
@TighelanderII
@TighelanderII 3 күн бұрын
I used to think that Reagan worked a secret deal with the Iranians. Some years ago I thought differently. Iran hated Carter, and they were right to do so. Carter not only helped their former dictator, the Shah, escape justice for terrorizing them as Saddam did to his own people, but he also sent Marines to attack them. He could have gotten the hostages back by sending the Shah, not the Marines. If he had sent the Shah back at the right time, no hostages would have been taken in the first place. Plus, the reason why the Shah was able to terrorize his people in the first place was because the U.S. overthrew their democratically elected government, and put the Shah as their leader. Reagan might have had secret talks with Iran, but they sure wouldn't have wanted Carter to claim a win for getting the hostages back, so Reagan's people were already preaching to the choir.

they tried to save the hostages by launching operation eagle claw but that failed when the CH-53 sea stallion transport helicopter crashed during an aerial refueling and collided with a C-130 hercules. this was because of poor weather, coordination, and that the branches that operated in this operation were trained in different regions of the country

Here’s some facts about why the hostage crisis took place : British intelligence and the CIA caused a coup d’etat against the elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh . They installed a despot autocratic rule the shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi @ 1953. During his regime, he tortured his people using his secret police called the Savak. Finally, the Iranian people had enough and overthrew the Shah and he fled to the US for cancer treatments . The Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was able to return from being in exile I believe in England or France . President Carter’s bad decision was allowing the cruel dictator, Shah of Iran, to get cancer treatments in the US fleeing the Islamic overthrow!
