I live in Tucson and the day of the shooting I worked at a bank, we were getting ready to close because it was a Saturday and closed around 1, so it was quiet and empty in the bank when suddenly this older lady comes bursting in screaming that Gifford had been shot. We had non stop news all weekend and it sadly looked like she wouldn’t make it. I am so shocked and happy to see her just healthy and doing well considering the circumstances!!

We wish Mark success in winning his Senate seat and would love to see Gabby recovered enough to run for office again, should she want to. She may have lost ability to speak easily, butshe has a whole lot to say. I noticed very early in the video interview that the camera lingered a bit on my Senator from California, Diane Feinstein. She is being quiet, but she definitely has a horse in this race. Feinstein's law office was the first of these random hits. 3 gunmen came into her office at 100 California st. SF and took out some personnel. She wasn't there. Then as head of the board of Supervisors in SF she had to announce the murder of the Mayor, George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk by a resigned Supervisor Dan White. Her husband recently passed but there she is, doing her job. She isn't loud, but she definitely has a strong opinion about guns. Great interview. Can't wait to see the film.

Wonderful journalism too. BUT, You are right, we need to do more in the States about “Gun Control”. It’s one thing to say you want to be able to have weapons, but when does it stop? There has to be tools put in place to deter people from doing this. The people that support guns are the same people who should be getting angry and mad that “these” people are slipping by mild “gun controls” to cause these atrocities! Get MAD! Suggest something that will allow you to keep your freedom but will PROTECT innocent people from getting hurt or killed. We simply can’t allow this anymore. We just can’t sit by and say this is okay! We are the laughing stock of the world! If you are afraid of losing your liberties, I must ask the question, WHY?? Are YOU one of those people we should be concerned about? I worked in and around the area and probably bought some sweet tea at that Safeway. The people who worked in the neighborhood said the shooter had applied for a job at their convenience store. He was turned down ( all this was before the shooting). The people interviewing him said he had obvious mental health difficulties. If someone had done something for him before this occurred, it would be a different conversation. As the commenter above states, it is the person, not the gun.
