I love the idea of making a living doing something that comes natural and love doing which is Homemaker: Cooking, cleaning with natural homemade cleaning solutions, and decorating I find this to be therapeutic so to speak. My husband and I love watching these two love birds and their family. Very talented and wonderful people. I would love to meet them some day! They are about the only wholesome thing to watch on TV. I fell in love with my when he came over and fixed my heater when I first met him.cwe don't agree aon much easy f everything but we both agree it would be great to fix up aplace togetherthe problem is we live I. I knew about Waco because of the Branch Dividians compound that the FBI raided in 1993. I hoped that its violent history didn't affect their show and saw that it didn't.They worked there just like nothing bad ever happened. The Gaines' gave Waco Texas the good name it has today. I loved their show and always will

@@juneribbons5196 I first heard of Waco when I was in the Navy, one of my roommates was from Houston, Texas and he called it Wacko and this was before the Branch Dividians mess. I'm pretty sure most people have forgotten all about that anyway since the average person's attention span is about that of a gnat, so as long as the Gaines' paint the prettiest picture they can no one will know of it's violent past which I'm pretty sure was much more violent the further back in time you go because Texas like the rest of the county has it's share of violence throughout history.

Very inspiring ! They are my favorite couple and favorite TV show. My husband and I actually built a new home and restored an old farm house on our property using designs and decor we saw on the show. Love the show. Chip is my hero because he reminds me of myself. When my wife and I renovated our own home when we lived in Omaha, NE I remember looking up at her from the bottom of the ladder and telling her that I couldn't possibly bring her one more bundle of shingles because I had developed a case of "shingles". Great job. I came across this article this morning, and I know what it is to do things yourself. From building a back yard fence 66 feet long to keep the winter winds from my home, as there is a tall water tower behind my home, but no structures to really cut the wind. Insulated my attic that is part of my 77 year old home, that had never ever been done (I purchased 2 years ago Sept) to avoid the electrical wires on the floor with old boards over them. I put OSB boards with the blue insulation on the floor to make a sub floor using 2 x 3 boards to cover the floor to avoid the wires and did the baffels and insulated the roof area with vapour barrier. Built a 10 foot by 10 foot craft shed, but not one electrician wants to wire it, as they do not deal with conduit which the city requires. The 18 inch deep ditch that was to house it was done by me, but later filled it in with drainage pipe instead. I am in the midst of building a front yard fence for my dog with a swing gate of 16 feet span (using 2- 3 and 5 feet sections with a folding of it backwards). At 68 starting these things and now I am 70 and still much more to do. I have to put up eves on two buildings and a drip edge on 1 shed (the shed had no down spouts either), and my own home, as the ice formed between the house and the eves last winter. Not enough energy to do everything in one year, but swore when I turn 71 in March - I am done redoing and building. (By the way - I am a 70 year old woman.)

I'm surfing the channels which by the way seemed odd considering the fact I don't watch cable T.V. It's obsolete to me. So I stumbled across the fixer upper show for the first time. Chip comes across as a guy who will never change no matter what and that who you see is who you get. Joanna, her energy is different. She seems like she's holding something in, like hiding something about herself. She also seems like if she gets more big than what she already has now, she can change. There's just something about her and I can quite get what it is. Like when she's with her kids, there's something distant...but when he's with them, he seems more involved, close, loving.

@Bee Be Chip is an extrovert so is much more expressive, warm, and open. Joanna is an introvert, which I am too, and it's harder to be expressive and super warm and bubbly. Introverts express themselves and their love differently. People often think I'm closed off, distant, or cold when they haven't gotten to know me - when that is not the case at all.

I love them both! They remind me of Sonny and Cher. But seriously, Chip is playful, but so very talented. Joanna is sofisticated, beautiful and serious. A woman of many talents. And such beautiful children! Very honest and refreshing even if Chip sometimes embarrasses Joanna by over sharing.
