You are a genius in the construction world Joel! It’s always fun watching you figure out ways to get around hold ups!

Strong walls are awesome, we are in a high seismic zone in BC and we call them up a lot but you have to know what you are doing. Simpson makes some amazing products for framing.

Please be so careful when you're out there working alone it stresses me out! The house is coming right along I'm so excited for you guys. It was wonderful to get a peek at your trip with your parents, your mom looks great I was so happy to see! Olivia looks so much like her, beautiful ladies both of them. Sending love from Wilsonville Oregon

I do not know anything about building, wiring or plumbing, but I absolutely love learning and watching your videos! I hope that one day I will be able to buy a house and I can come back to your videos and other KZbin videos to figure out how to fix things by myself. I know you can always hire someone but it is cheaper and more so the pride you feel when you fix something yourself is the best. I do not know much about fixing vehicles either but I love to google what is happening to your car and then watching videos to fix it yourself.

I knew the view was nice but when you see it through the framing for some reason it just looks even better!!

I am a framing contractor in Utah; you're up in Eden or park city! I am building a house right now, and they are calling these strong walls out. Super helpful video, thanks!

The Simpsons look good. I can't believe how much is done for framing! How will the snow you've gotten effect the process of the house? Also, u love that you are such a problem solver.

The snow only Makes things muddy and cold but won’t really stop our work.

I find when you’re using those Forstner bits, once the hole is started, remove that pilot bit and it can make it easier.

2" auger would have worked better no? Also on the 2nd floor threaded rods, how are they fastened underneath?
@TodaysTask19 күн бұрын
They connect to a threaded connection that you apply to the lower wall.

Will you have to use a RSJ? Also will you also be putting in load barring walls?
@danhunik79499 ай бұрын
Does Simpson not call for loctite thread locker on those nuts as added protection.

This build is so cool. Will you be able to finish it with the colder weather ahead or you will postpone it to the spring?

Yes, we can work year round in Utah but you need some long John’s for sure.

Can you drill holes in the face of the strong wall for exterior gas fired lighting? We're using WSWH14x18. Also, did you set the 1" bolts in the wet concrete or did you drill them in? Great video, thanks for posting
@TodaysTask2 жыл бұрын
The bolts have to go all the way to the footings and have to be cast into the concrete not drilled.
@Ratherbemilling2 жыл бұрын
@@TodaysTask Thanks so much for the reply. I spoke to Simpson and they advised that we can drill into the footings but we must use a specific epoxy or acrylic depending on the temperature. Also, this needs to be approved by the Engineer or Architect - who ever specified the wall. Really appreciate your help.
