I was 16 when I saw and heard Michael Monroe doing Dead, Jail, or Rock N Roll video. I was blown away. At 51, I still listen to Michael and Hanoi Rocks. I have a very deep appreciation for their music.

When Mike talks about his musical heroes and meeting them, it's funny but I recall how I briefly bumped into him in Helsinki. He was just walking in into Stockmann with a guitar on a regular day. I was absolutely happy to see Michael Monroe right in front of me in that door. I recall all I could say is "I've been a fan for a long time, Mike" and he said "thanx, appreciate it" and I was just walking by thinking "was it real just right now". Meeting Andy in Helsinki is not so rare, but Michael Monroe in front of you is that lucky day. That was my moment meeting my childhood rock music hero. A legend.

Michael, get your book translated to english. I will be first in line to buy it! And I am sure all of us here and those who love 80’s rock will buy it too! Great job Todd! You’re an amazing musician and a kind soul.

What a great interview! I have to say my heart was sad for all the horrible things that happened to him and the band. I know some were poor choices, like we all have made at one time or another in our lives. Other times it was just bad timing, unlucky breaks or just life. What really made me smile was how humble he was throughout the interview, and obviously that is how he lives his life. I wish him the best life has to offer. It's interesting to note that people just assume that musicians that tour and make albums are millionaires, not realizing that a lot of them struggle financially just like unfamous people. I hope he makes money on his book, his music and future movie. What a great guy! Thank you for interviewing him🤘🎶🎼🙏

Thanks for this gem ! On a (long) side-note, it is great to hear that "Life gets you dirty" will be reissued soon. Before losing my copy of it, I remember saying to friends "that has to be the best rock n' roll album of year 1999" and no one believed me at the time ! The personality of Michael Monroe shine through his songs, just like in that interview. Beyond his trademark, kick-ass rock n' roll, his songwriting is meaningful. Through thick and thin, Michael Monroe keeps on going, and his music kept me going (and playing) too in my own darkest hours. To see him getting well-deserved accolades lately was just wonderful. I wish him a long and happy life, and may he keep on sharing his gift to the world as long as he wishes to !

You should do talk with even better hide rock n roll treasure- Adam Bomb. That guy was doing stuff with people like John Paul jones of led zeppelin, audition for kiss as a kid and lose for his low age and hight and probably he was too pretty as well. I think they did something together I saw foto. They was in New York around same time backin the day. He’s the most hardworking guy in rock n roll and never had major breakthrough
