Todd tore his knee up against Auburn his last year and wasnt the same since. He was a backup during his freshman year but the first time he touched a ball at UGA, he housed it for six. Gurley re-established RBU at UGA and paved the way for Nick Chubb, D. Swift, James Cook, Zeus, and Sony Michel. God bless you Todd and THANK YOU for everything you've done for the state of Georgia. A *damn good dawg* in all respects.

Yup. I’m a Bama fan but I remember that like it was yesterday. It was on a kickoff, no? I remember most UGA folks being excited about Keith Marshall from the 2012 class. I still say to this day the best two teams in the country played in the 2012 NC game. We obviously destroyed ND but UGA would’ve as well. Todd Gurley and Marshawn Lattimore were the only two RB’s that have gotten 100+ yards rushing on Bama while playing against us as a freshmen since the dynasty started. To put that in prospective, the best RB this year, Bijan Robinson, only had around 57 yards on 22/23 carries. I know the average came out to 2.7 yards per carry on us this year. He’s a Jr. That’s how special Gurley and Lattimore were.

Hes my favorite player of all time, its such a shame his prime was so short. I was at the uga auburn game when he came back off of suspension, btw give this man his games back, most electrifying moment in my sports memory. It was a 7:30 kick off and he was kick returner and pacing back and forth in the end zone. He takes it to the house, it was called back but that moment had the sandford stadium louder than Ive ever heard.

Injury is a fickle thing. Hell, I remember when Gurley was being recruited out of high school. He was actually a lower profile recruit than RB Keith Marshall when they went into UGA. Marshall was the Gatorade player of the year for North Carolina their senior year, not Gurley. Marshall had a fine college career too but a bad season ending injury his sophomore year hit Marshall's career earlier than Gurley's did. Gurley went on to be picked 10th overall in 2015. Marshall went in the 7th round in 2016 even after running the fastest 40 at the combine. Considering it's just a matter of when, not if a football player at the highest level gets hurt, it's just wild how fortunes are made and lost based not only on how bad the injuries are but when they happen.

One of the best RB’s to ever play in the SEC. Man was a beast since he was a freshman. I’m an Alabama fan but love college football so of course I watch a ton of games and if I recall correctly in his first game ever at UGA he took a kickoff to the house. Bama had a great defense in 2012 and as a freshman he ran for 120+/2 TD’s on 23 Carrie’s against us in the 2012 SECCG. Even tho Eddie Lacy went for 183 on 20 carries with 2 TD’s of his own, had UGA ran the ball more then Bama may not of ended up winning that one and it would’ve been UGA spanking ND for the national championship. Crazy thing was Todd Gurley wasn’t a 5 star but a high 4*. Def underrated. The only other RB that ran on us like that as a true freshman during Bama’s dynasty was Marshawn Lattimore, who would’ve been special as well if not for injuries. Would’ve been cool if LA Rams would’ve sent Gurley a ring from last years SB win cause he was truly something else. Amari Cooper, Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon, Landon Collins, Reggie Ragland, Kenyan Drake, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Jordan Jenkins we’re all freshmen that year. Rtr!
