@@PommyinOZ I agree, I feel that either Lord or Lukosius partnering up with Georgiades inside Port’s forward line would be better suited for them in 2025. Unlike Soldo, Finlayson and Ratugolea, I feel that Ollie Lord is a more natural forward and I feel that he would be a more suitable tall body that can help support Georgiades by either getting the ball to ground or taking marks inside 50.

Evening Pommy, first thought, feel for the player but better Port than us, big sigh of relief. Not convinced with Jeremys ability to rise with the oppurtunity. Big chance for Lord to make a mark, think he has the skill. Ivan isn't good enough except for bit parts I think Pom. Horne- Francis, like where you're going there mate, never warmed to the bloke as an opposition supporter but the arse can play, at his best a game changer. Nice work mate, Go Pom Go Blues.

yeah, port's top 8 chances were already looking pretty unlikely with the exits in the off-season, but this might be the biggest blow they could've gotten outside of course butters, rozee and JHF. their players next-up are gonna have a real trial by fire this season.

Tough time, but opportunities are there to be had! We've seen it before a player goes down and a young kid is thrust into it and thrives! Ironically Lord staying could be a trade window win for the Port

Port will benefit greatly from the return of Sam Powell-Pepper as that big explosive 🧨 medium forward from injury after an ACL saw him sorely missed for nearly all of 2024. Ollie Lord was impacted by a serious internal injury and lost 10 kgs in body weight late in last year’s preseason, it was expected that he would have been a 2024 key forward along with Dixon with Mitch Georgiades and Todd Marshall playing as third tall options. As a result of this badly interrupted preseason Ollie Lord’s 2024 season never really got going after an excellent performance in the 2023 finals. (4 goals against Brisbane) This season was always going to be difficult for Todd Marshall as his concussion issues had shuffled him back in long term planning. I believe Port will play Lord, Georgiades, Lukosius as the 1st choice three tall forwards , along with Finlayson (who missed a lot of last year also with injury and had the issue of his wife’s serious cancer condition) and Soldo playing as bench options in ruck relief. The injury to Todd Marshall , although not ideal , maybe a blessing in disguise for his concussion issues, as his 2024 performances aside from one game against North Melbourne were bereft of confidence. I think Ports’s forward line with the inclusion of Lukosius , Powell-Pepper, a full preseason to Ollie Lord , a second season after a 2023 knee reconstruction for Mitch Georgiades along with the likes of Willie Rioli, Darcy Byrne-Jones, Joe Richards, highly rated first round selection Joe Berry and the developing Tom Anastasopoulos as small forward options …….. Port Adelaide maybe a far more unpredictable (no more bombing at a fatigued Charlie Dixon) and explosive scoring threat in season 2025.

I agree mate love the comment. Think that the dynamic of luko Mitch and lord is very potent. Combine that with some serious smalls and as you say a maurading SPP will help shift the dynamics
