writers for The Hangover got $750,000 + ... there are more who even got 7 figure deals for their first sell. It's important to add these things when talking about a writers salary because as tough as it is, we need all the motivation we can get. We're under appreciated and the slightest con, for new writers, could hinder their strive for becoming a screenwriter.

This is one of my favorite videos. It is the writer's whine of America. They are a lot of Ego's thinking they deserved more for bad movies. I dont hate unions but they can get petty

What an individualistic, short-sighted bootlicker Todd Phillips seems. "Unions are bad because their rules mean I can't do what I want." They also protect workers from bad practices and the inevitable exploitation in capitalism. Agents are meant to look after writers but as the current catastrophe shows, they also broke antitrust laws to own studios and claim to impartially represent writers. Don't bash unions just because your security is safe, Todd.
