Todd is the single greatest musical artist. He's a multi-Instrumentalist, he sings, writes all tunes and lyrics and can mix the sound like a sound engineer who's specialty it is. Everything from the initial inspiration for a song he creates, through every aspect of his creative process to the final fulfillment of his vision. And he does it all very well. Todd was doing this from around 69/70. Way ahead of his time.

Todd Rundgren is what Mick Jagger and Robert Plant wish they could be.
@TheJollycoppers2 жыл бұрын
I think Todd has more staying power than either of them. Mostly because he continues to write and explore different sounds and genres. Jagger and Plant are more or less stuck in their 60's - 70's mode (although the Plant and Alison Krauss duo has proven to be successful).

I was just noticing how much fun the band seems to be having. Check out how Omar breaks out into a huge grin at 3:35 when Todd holds the big note and the band comes barreling back in for the rideout. And how Don Alias does the same at the end stop (4:15). They knew they were involved in a magic moment!
@mikech33154 жыл бұрын
The whole song is magic but it even intensifies a 2:95 when the guitar player cuts in and gets creative - great performance by the band and of course Todd

Todd, Stevie Ray, Jeff Healey.. They get so excited and do the best performances with the house band together. David, Marcus, Omar, Hiram, Tom, Philip and Don. Wow, it's been 30 years passed. At the time we thought we were able to watch this level of quality music pretty often. And now, we realize it was like a miracle we can't see this level of pop music anymore... So lucky that I was around and absorbed so much when the highest quality pop music was created.

I saw this tour in Chicago at the Riviera Theater. Apex stuff where he concentrated more on singing than playing guitar ... He had Lyle Workman on guitar but he still played on a few songs. That tour had at least 6 capable singers even though he was without KS on that tour. Edit:. Oops the video may be from the time of the Second Wind tour ... I saw the Nearly Human tour at the Riv.

@jsilence418 I guess a "hanger on" would not be constantly ASKED to tour with Todd and participate on his projects, so there goes that theory. I stand in awe of your history of listening to the "best players in many styles"...cue dramatic music! Utopia/Todd fans I am sure will attest to Kasim's bass and vocal chops, not choppers, so horse face or not, he need not worry. Now, if only J would be silent but something tells me nay!
