This is the type of music we had in the 70's. This is when I would expect you to say we were spoiled. The golden age of the singer/songwriter. One huge singer/songwriter that was as great as anyone else during that time was Carole King. You could react to every song on the Tapestry album. I Feel the Earth Move, You've Got a Friend, It's Too Late, You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman, etc. Pick one! Or Simon and Garfunkel...any song. Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Sound of Silence, The Boxer (my favorite), etc. So much great music then.
@sammyslam1
@sammyslam1 4 жыл бұрын
@ted ritola .....brutha you said a mouthful and there are even more genres that broke in the 70's than the ones you mentioned. Just think of all the great music that came from the Caribbean and Africa during the 70's.... The 80's are my favorite because it's the music of my youth, but the 70's was far greater... The musicianship, harmony, depth, orchestration, lead and background vocals, storylines, composition, arrangments, etc.... Very very high levels, even when you factor in the now hated disco music.....just think about the complexity of those huge 64 track arrangements, with real musicians playing off score sheets. The 70's are an unreal decade for music, matched only by the very underrated 20's in American music history...

I grew up in the 60's and 70's with really great music and incredibly talented bans. I am so glad that the Guardians of the Galaxy has exposed so many young people to some of the music I grew up with. The music landscape today is so generic and mostly soulless. Just my thoughts.

Jamal welcome to the magic of the 70s. Other musicians at the time called him baby Todd because he was so young. You are gonna love the version at Darryl’s house. Great videos Jamal. This song always brings back great memories from my youth.

You wanna Freak Out? Liv Tyler (actress) was born Liv Rundgren. Todd is still today her adoptive/Legal Father, Steven Tyler is her Biological Father. Her Liv Tyler name she took as a stage name. She is the Daughter of Bebe Buell. She was a sometimes model, I think playboy, and professional groupie. She lived with Todd for years, but had a fling with Steven Tyler of AeroSmith, and got pregnant. Todd, raised her as his own and is still very much in her life. Todd and Steven are bud's and it's like she has two dads. Yeah Todd Freak. Thx man!

Todd is the gift that keeps on giving. Check out "The Last Ride," "Just One Victory," "A Dream Goes On Forever," "The Verb 'To Love'," "Can We Still Be Friends," "Real Man," "Cliché," Utopia's "Love Is The Answer"...and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Jamal, I want you to know that I love the WAY you react -- I can see that you are really focusing on the music -- not just pretending to enjoy it. You're actually listening and trying to work out what the lyrics are saying, and it's obvious you're into the music as well. THANK you for being GENUINE!

Todd quoting from Wiki " is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and record producer who has performed a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of the band Utopia. He is known for his sophisticated and often unorthodox music, his occasionally lavish stage shows, and his later experiments with interactive entertainment. He also produced music videos and was an early adopter and promoter of various computer technologies, such as using the Internet as a means of music distribution in the late 1990s.[1". This song is the tip of the iceberg. I saw him live in concert multiple times. He's amazing. He can play pretty much any instrument.
