"Message" is a track by Finally George from the Icy Skies record that came out in 2021. I play on both of his records available at the link. This is the actual recording session for the drum track on "Message." finallygeorge.com

It’s so hard to stay focused and not do your own thing.. so many times through this jam I would have done something different.. but Todd is the pro here.. awesome tune!!

Best drummer going today. If he was a rapper, he'd be "Groove Master Flex" 😁🥁

Awesome as usual. Even Todd’s stick retrieval at 2:15 from side stick to match grip is slicker than a slick thing. P.S… I still want that gorgeous Pearl Masters kit when you’ve had enough of it 😊

Thanks for the post Todd! The Icy Skies & Life is a Killer albums are both amazing. If it weren't for your posts I never would've discovered Finally George or Alta Forma...so thanks for that!

What a performance! I love your melodic use of the toms. And I laughed when I noticed that you and I have the same Slingerland shirt. My wife found it and had the seller place her birth year, mine, and our child's as the badge's serial number.
@toddsucherman7 ай бұрын
All three of my T-shirts are the serial numbers on my father's 1969 Slingerlands which was my first kit.

No, sorry. More like Copleland/Brzezicki/Katche. But I don't think of other players when I play....just a flavor really.

it must be hell figuring out which snare is buzzing in that room

Total silence....a thin paper towel is between the snares and bottom heads on all the snares.

OK, I need to ask - what is that thing that looks like a collapsing World Series trophy on that white table beside the 18 inch floor tom?
@toddsucherman7 ай бұрын
It's a Waterphone.

Todd how can you record in this room without getting any resonance from all that drum kits around?
@toddsucherman7 ай бұрын
Because they act like a wood wall-- like wood walls in recording studios. The don't ring at all. They act like wood cylinders.
