To the people who said his Co didn’t have a chance they are wrong. If you have been in the back of the boat it is great to have a boater who is on fish, can’t stress this enough... you make your own luck out of the back. There are fish there, just got to get them to bite. It’s always a joy to net fish for your boater. The opportunity to learn is priceless. Good video. It was good to hear you encourage your Co and give him the Green Light to cast anywhere he wanted except for in front of the boat. Good stuff...

That Co absolutely had a chance...a great chance. Todd was on fish and on the right ones. I was a Co in the Cal Delta where my pro spent two hours on a big girl locked on...I fan casted a swim worm and nailed two 3lbers, spawning flat, perfect. Just gotta grind...no doubt that cut held more than Todd's sight fish.

Nice comeback Todd. I've got a question for you. If I were a co-angler in your boat in this tournament, could I stand up on the front deck with you and watch. I understand that I couldn't fish but could I stand up there and learn? Your co-angler looked very young and maybe thinks that the money he could win in this tournament means more than the information he could get. Personally, especially if I had a terrible day 1, I would make a deal with you that I wouldn't even fish if you would let me stand next to you and watch. No questions, just stand there leaning on the net wearing sunglasses and hope I didn't get hit with that sinker on one of your swing and misses. I'm gonna send this to my little brother. He thinks I'm just showing off when I swing on one and look foolish when I miss. I tried telling him that if it's a big fish it's important to hammer that hookset when you have a big hook but he still thinks I'm just showing off
@toddcastledinefishing59243 жыл бұрын
Everything you said is correct. Yes you could stand up there all day if you'd like I wouldn't mind. Yes you can't fish while being up there and some might not let you because it would bother them but not me. I actually invited him up multiple times and let him watch a little and he took me up on the offer. Normally I don't set the hook until they have it but certain circumstances dictate their behavior. Every single fish acted the same way and none would eat and swam off. I had to time it perfect when they would snip at it, just one of those things.

I was his co and let me tell you it was well worth the money to fish out of the back I learned more that day than I ever had in a single day of fishing I would do it again any day of the week Todd is one heck of a guy and an even better teacher
@joshuanewsome52983 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome man. I’m glad you took the opportunity to learn from Todd. That’s kind of a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Bed fishing is absolutely an acquired skill and takes a lot of understanding bass instincts I guess. I am trying it for the first time this year and man is it frustrating. I’m trying to learn how to read the fish. I don’t really have the confidence to stay on a fish that long if I can’t get it interested in 5-10 minutes. I was trying to catch one on a bed at Dale Hollow the other day that might have been the biggest bass I have ever caught. My biggest is a little over 8 and I think this fish was somewhere between 7-10lbs. I tried for 2 hours and got it to bite once in the first 15 minutes but couldn’t get it to go again. That’s pretty humbling. I have no idea what it weighed really but I had just caught one off a bed right before and it weighed 5.78 and the bigger one looked twice as big to me. I felt sorry for you when Todd lost that good one at the boat. I could tell you felt slightly responsible and I’m glad Todd let you know that it was no big deal. As I’m sure you know that stuff just happens. You came off like a good young man in the video and I wish you luck in your future tournaments!

I've fished grand alot ( I live near Joplin mo) and for whatever reason its fishing tough this year. It seems like 98% of the bass are using 2% of the lake. That place will humble u. Good job tho brother.
