I 😂 when you consider yourselves the old guys. I fished BASS back in the 90’s, when I had a couple of flashers and maybe a “high tech” paper graph. Kids playing video games on the front of the boat, interests me not. I like watching fishermen putting together a pattern with knowledge and experience. This video of two guys hashing out ideas (calmly, I might add) is the best thing I’ve watched in awhile.

I had no idea that there was a beef between my 2 favorite fishermen that I dont know personally. Yall are in a relatively small brotherhood so Im glad there isnt a real beef. Jesus loves you both and is coming soon so none of this stuff really matters anyway.

@@sonnycalzone7784 imo he just got smart that he was missing seeing his kids grow up. Hallman’s wife is a partner in a law firm so he doesn’t need the money or the stress.

I fish 15 to 20 tournaments per year and make enough in my job that I really don’t need to make a dime fishing. I could not and don’t want to imagine the stress of having to make tournament checks to pay the bills. For me, it would destroy the sport completely

This year’s rookie class on the BPT should automatically be in next year. Whether that means adding extra spots to make a total of 70 anglers next year or cutting the last 5 guys on the bottom. Matt and any of the other rookies not in got fuxked and that isn’t cool.

I saw a movie back in the nineties in the cinema, in fact it was one of the rare ones that as young people we returned back to the cinema house multiple times to watch. When listening to Todd's description of 'rule' or format changes in the tournament universe (would some folks manage or cope with that transformation to their reality, would some other folks not?). It was when Todd talked about getting to be dependent on a way to catch fish. It made me wonder. Has electronics in bass competition done to some anglers, what Morgan Freeman's character in Shawshank Redemption said that the walls of their facility had done to some of the inmates? And is electronics in bass angling the inversion of that? Where younger bass anglers have surrounded their reality with larger and more formidable walls? Than the older anglers who still remember a time, when those walls did not exist. Or were not so high, that one was fully enclosed by them.

Matt and so many other guys should just go fish npfl. Seems like that organization is black and white as it comes. They make rules and stick to em they make a schedule stick to it. They make a format and stick to it. So..... Seems like the best business decision to me. You'd still get coverage and be able to make your sponsors happy. And personally I think a lot of companies are going to start backing npfl.

Do you really believe that. Guard the series and let no one else in just because. This is exactly the reason why the sport that we love will never be “legit”. You don’t get to keep your job if you are terrible at it. Why would we allow this. I am not disagreeing with you completely. I just don’t really understand that mentality.

For Bass fishing to make the next step and take things to the next level they need sports betting. Place odds on anglers, allow parlays, over/unders. I’m not exactly sure how you do that but if you could I think it would blow up. The first organization that could pull that off would be far and away the premier bass fishing league.
