His parents bought him a Mustang at 16. While he had the car, he was speeding everywhere, failing in school, smoking weed, sneaking out, unauthorized use of his parents' 💳, lying and his mother was onto all of it eventually. This is a guy who took 31 mins to call the police after "hearing" gunshots that he was so sure came from his parents' room even though his sister also lived on that same floor. How did the killer know where his father's gun was? And the notepad the note was written on was from a notepad that belonged to the Armstrongs. The police took 6 mins to arrive at the house soon after AJ called 911 when he claimed he heard gunshots inside the house. How did the killer have all that time to kill 2 ppl, write a note in the dark, leave the murder weapon behind and escape without tripping off the alarm. Mind you, AJ had to disengage the alarm for the police to enter the house which meant that the alarm was on the entire time. He passes his parents' room to get to his sister's room when his parents were the ones in greater need of medical attn given where he said he heard the shots came from. He didn't even open the door...nothing...to determine if there was even a remote chance that any of their lives could've been saved. The most audible part of the 911 call just so happens to be when he is trying to wake his sister up--excessively trying to sound like the Herculean big brother--while the rest of the call was mostly uttered in whispered tones.

The free on bond thing is part of the “due process” clause in the Constitution. You are not actually supposed to be considered Guilty until proven so in court. You are treating them, in your view, as if it was already proven. Imagine I called the police on you right now and told them you killed someone. Then, they came and arrested you. Wouldnt you want to be considered innocent unless you were proven guilty. What would you think of people(like you) if they were confused about why you were offered bail or why you were not considered guilty from the start without a trial? See, it works both ways. I never believed Armstrong’s innocence. He had a major ego and clearly didn’t care about his consequences. What irritates me most is the lack of support (or lack of outrage) that the family has not shown for the oldest brother. When his mother and stepfather were killed, he spiraled into such a traumatic depression and had to be committed to a mental facility. Yet, in every interview, when they could’ve shown a small drop of fevered defense for him, silence…. Not a word about how being appalled that the courts want to go after him as the killer.

I don't think sso. I watched an interview that he did professing his innocence. He thinks that he is the smartest person in the room. He's a terrible liar and I think the previous jury had trouble believing that a kid from his background could commit such a crime. He showed no remorse for the crime or genuine sadness that his parents were dead.

She lost her whole family due to her brothers inability to regulate. 😢 A.J.’s claim that he was not given the medical/mental health he needed is suspect to me as his past actions tell a different story as far as his mind set; I doubt A.J. would’ve been willing to ask for, admit that he needed, or accept the mental health help he and his defense claimed he asked for. He instead decided that he was too cool for school or rules or consequences and murdered his parents in cold blood. May his parents Rest In Peace. I watched this case somewhere else, but I love how Dr. Grande never misses a detail. I so agree with Dr Grande. When I first heard this story in its entirety, my thoughts were that he killed them. Too many coincidences. Those poor parents went to bed thinking they were safe under the same roof as their spoiled son!! He comes off as a liar and an entitled little jerk believing he is the smartest guy in the room. There wasn't anything presented here to imply he was spoiled. Going to a private school, when a parent can afford it, is more about a parent appreciating a safe and academically enriching setting. Even Catholic and Christian schools are​ private. He may have earned the privilege of the car by working around the house, getting good grades, or whatever. That his parents imposed serious consequences for his drug use suggests that they had reasonable expectations and imposed discipline for failing to meet standards. People would go to this dude's house and annoy the ever-living daylights out of him because they found his reactions to be so amusing.
