My dad went to him to check a mole and came home exclaiming what a looney tune the guy was. He was playing video games while my dad sat and waited for him to check his mole, right in the same room. It was shortly after that we heard about the murder. She should have gotten out after the first baby and stayed out!

Wow! That shows just how small the world can seem at times. Say hi to your dad from me/us, he just became known worldwide for having visited a crazy murderous trans dermatologist and lived to tell the story. That's one amazing story and a great comment. Take care and tell your dad to stay away from mad dermatologists in the future, after all, he has a family to worry over:)

There should be PSA "AUTOGYNEPHILES ARE POWER SEEKING NARCISSISTS DON'T ALLOW THEM TO MANIPULATE YOU". I dated one that left to blow his married boyfriend that wanted to get rid of me then he punched HIMSELF in the face so he could claim he was defending my honor and could garner sympathy. His other friend told me he faked the fight and bloody nose, I told him he was sick for saying that and never to speak to me again. Turned out to be true. Dude is a fuckin doctor. Fuckin cray cray, thought I was gonna be his beard, incubator, house slave, arm candy. Maybe get him dressed up and pegged between boyfriend visits. What's worse is I didn't avoid trans people after that, I was too kind "not all of them are narcissistic misogynists". Yeah right 😂

Autogynephiles enjoy living off of people. It's part of their "being treated like a stupid spoiled slut/bimbo/woman" fantasy. They love to go into prostitution, live off parents, the state, take take take. I think they like to become doctors not just for the power and status but because the education process is long and if someone else is paying then they're happy to stay in school forever. I'm surprised this guy became successful. Back in the day "trans women" tended to be trustfund babies or transition once they were in power or retired, now the government provides and people are losing their kids. "girls just wanna have fun" 🙄😂 SICK SAD WORLD 🤡

My childhood was a living hell until i was able to grow up and leave the house eventually working hard and being able to live a decent and normal life so whoever uses this as an excuse to harm another is just being extremely selfish.

Dr. Sharpe was my doctor. I saw some compassion in him. I found him to be intense yet professional. He had a lot of his young childrens art work in his office. He was a very intense super-critical person with some sincere compassion. Really unique guy. I feel so sorry for his family. I remember he would call his wife to schedule his calendar. I watched this case many years ago on Court TV. Even after all this time, I still remember how strange Sharp was and how on the stand at trial how he kept his eyes closed the entire time when being questioned. His wife appeared to be such a nice and good person, who got messed up w the wrong guy. Her life must have been sheer hell.

Very good explanation. Esp about why Karen stayed with the rancid creep. Here in the UK, police can refuse to drop violence charges esp if they believe the victim has been coerced or manipulated into withdrawing the complaint. Dissociation is normal for everybody to experience in small amounts. I've never heard of anyone who believes it doesn't exist. That being said, it's a stupid defense for murder. Most people dissociate at the movies, for example, because you can feel like that two hour movie "flew by" (if it was good lol). You don't lose your sense of right and wrong in that moment. How absurd.

This case had a lot of interesting angles. It’s sad how Richard perpetrated the violent 9behavior he learned at the hands of his father on Karen. It’s also sad that Karen couldn’t seem to get away from the relationship, even though she knew almost from the beginning that marrying Richard was a bad idea. Thanks for analyzing this one Dr. Grande-and thank you for lightening the subject up with your trademark humor.

Three words "battered woman syndrome". Yes, it's actually a thing. And yes, it's explains a lot about Karen's behavior through out her relationship with her husband. Including the fact that she unfortunately lost her life after he lost his control over her. Control he thought of as absolute. Meaning that she wouldn't use the fact that he'd most of his wealth over to her (as a measure for to fight being sued for malpractice) to finally get away from him.

Not disputing that could be the case (as is often the case), but I did not pick up any clues to that one. This one is probably more complex that simple autogynephilia, he appeared to have a deep-rooted misogyny (as many of them do), plus add into the mix an extreme narcissist (probably NPD) and domestic abuser. Seemed like a volatile cocktail going on. Deep-rooted misogyny can also be 'failed masculinity' as well, the so-called beta male trying to make alpha. More layers to this one than an onion tbh. But misogyny is definitely in the mix.

I can't cite a study but I have heard that there is a definite corellation between how 'nice' a person is and how it attracts violence and victimization. So, accordingly, the nicer one is the more abusers one attracts. It explains a lot of life. Also, there is something in the animal world called imprinting. Humans supposedly are not affected by imprinting, but I don't believe this. Like when baby condors emerge from their eggs, they have to see Condors, as their parents, it happens at this specific time and if they see humans, they will adopt the human as their parent.

We tend to call someone nice when they're non-hostile and amenable. This is because society has associated 'niceness' with people pleasing. People pleasers aren't actually 'nice' due to an inate aboundance kindness or compassion. They're exhibiting a fawn response due to low self-esteem and fear of confrontation. They often find it exhausting to constantly be 'nice' as it's a facade of agreeableness they use to avoid difficult situations or confrontation. An authentic personality trait doesn't require a person to perform it. Truly nice people are rare. They're kind, yes, but they also have self-esteem and can stand up for themselves and others. Predators look for those who are agreeable and less likely to resist.
