By awarding such large payouts, divorce court incentivizes the breakdown of families and marriage for financial gain. There are cases where the threat of divorce has been used as a type of monetary blackmail. This is systemically unethical. Additionally, it is an archaic throwback to an era when women were wrongly considered the weaker sex, it is unknowingly perpetuating sexism.

Your remark is valid. I know 2 relevant examples. Case1, they got divorced, she came to the marriage with empty bags, walked away with 3/4 of all his assets. Case 2. He came with empty bags to the marriage, threatened to divorce her and take her assets. She refused the divorce and held her entitlements. Interesting outcomes.

This is why Amber Heard walked into her last case with Johnny Depp thinking all she had to do was show up. The family courts are so rigged against men that it's ridiculous, she thought she'd get the same ride in her defamation trial. Whoops!! She walked into a buzzsaw. It didn't help that her lawyers were extremely arrogant, were used to winning because of the deference given to their bigshot firm, and did little to no preparation.

My case was wild... my sons mother dropped him off to me when he was 4 years old, and she never returned to pick him back up nor did i hear from her for months... years later, i found out she put me on child support, and claimed she had no idea where I was, but was acting as if she was providing and my son was living with her .... Of course, I opened up a case in family court to clear my name, and attempt to get custody ..... the Judge threw me out of the court room over and over again, BECAUSE SHE WOULDN'T SHOW UP TO COURT AND JUDGE SAID THAT SHE CAN'T POSSIBLY HEAR MY CASE WITHOUT HER BEING THERE, WHILE MY SON WAS WITH ME EVERY TIME .... That was in NJ , once i moved out of state, it got corrected IMMEDIATELY ....

I don’t believe it should be abolished just that the child in most circumstances should live with the father mostly. What’s worse is the amount of false accusations made against men outnumber the actual legitimate claims. The women who do so get no repercussions.

I was there as a nurse when the judge was brought into the trauma ICU at the local trauma hospital.. He was laughing and joking with staff, maybe he was nervous. He wasn’t seriously hurt. At the time I was good friends with an ex deputy DA, who told me when the judge was shot, there was a long list of people that were suspects. My friend told me that during his divorce, Judge Weller told him that if he didn’t make a settlement with his wife, he would make him pay alimony for the rest of his life. This judge was known to be harsh on males in family court. I was also told that the wife was cut from one ear to the other almost decapitated by this lunatic in the garage of the townhome. Another weird thing that was done. Was that the DA at the time was friends with this sniper and went down to Mexico (where the guy fled) to personally to bring him back to Reno, which was looked at as a conflict of interest since he was also the DA.

Alimony is an obsolete concept. Created when women could not work yo earn a living. A transition is needed but women need to get a job and go back to supporting themselves. Marriage is now a scam due to divorce courts. The payments continue after the lease is terminated, even though you no longer have access to the car. And someone else raises your kids 84% of the time. "Wife" is the only "job" in the world with a retirement plan instantly upon start. Fifty percent of your life's earnings, and often about 26% of future earnings for up to 18 years taken in exwife "support" that does not go to kids. INSANE!!! And marriage (in the USA) is the only contract where the person breaking the contract wins. 🙄 Alimony is an obsolete concept since women are earning equal pay, too. It is a false claim that men earn more individually, only true collectively, because they work more hours, years, and risky jobs.

The woman lived a relaxing and carefree life, never waking up early to go to work or taking on any of the stress that comes with running a business. She just sat around all day while he had to work. The judge was a jerk. That woman isn't some disabled elderly woman who can't work-- she can get a job and pay her own way in the world. The judge was basically a thief acting on behalf of a lady who could work, but chooses not to. This stuff happens all the time here, a judge will ruin a man's life and make the woman's life easy. I personally believe that women are just as intelligent, hard working, and capable as men...but for some reason judges in America think women are basically like children...so if u divorce from a woman it's still your responsibility bc she's the child and the man's the adult, at least in the eyes of the judges. That's why all decent hardworking Americans understand the motivation for going after the judge. Many feel the judge deserved it, fafo

American society has more than enough reason to ditch marriage altogether. Reform laws that truly act in the best interest of the children. Remove bias. Kids deserve to have both parents, and both parents should also have reasonable protection from the other. As this case highlights, violence has no place in society and therefore laws need to be FAIR for all parties.
