And yet two days ago on Valentine's Day she took out half page ad in the local newspaper in which she gushed about how wonderful he was, how he was the love of her life, and how she was the luckiest woman ever. I know someone who pulled a weapon on her now ex-husband. Thank the Lord no one was hurt. She was able to convince plenty of people that he was a bad guy and deserved it. However, she was not able to convince the prosecutors office or a jury. She spent a month in jail. Some women overestimate their ability to convince others that they are a victim.
@elizabethhammstudent48508 ай бұрын
x
@XYZ-kb3mm8 ай бұрын
without context, i don’t see how you can come to the conclusion that he did not deserve it. in cases of active violence, i feel pulling a weapon on someone makes sense, yeah? that’s not quite the same thing as murdering someone in their sleep like this case. even though christy was a murderer and in this case she had other options so it was inexcusable, she *was* actually a victim of abuse.
@YTStoleMyUsername8 ай бұрын
Yes, while in this case premeditated murder (as opposed to self defense) is wrong and illegal, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about what's truly going on behind closed doors in other peoples relationships. Many are abused mentally, physically and/or sexually and hide it from their friends & loved ones. Even if they do try to tell someone, usually the abuser already has everyone on their side because they can turn on the charm in public. People have a hard time believing you they would do such things because how well they can act. I don't know why the woman OP is referring to would pull a weapon on someone if she was not fearful, unless they were both toxic people - which can also happen. But it is very common for abusers to turn everyone's opinion around to make you look like the crazy one. Whether or not she was justified I have no idea, but hopefully others start paying attention to the signs.
@elizabethhammstudent48508 ай бұрын
Christy was a victim I agree. I should have said she overestimated how much sympathy she would get. It wasn't enough to sway people's opinion and get her a lighter sentence. I actually would have understood if they gave her 20 years instead of life with parole. As for the woman I described, she was not in danger. It was clearly established in a court of law. She went over to his place and brought a gun She has a history of lashing out at people. Males, females, friends, significant others, family members, etc. Her ex husband certainly isn't blameless for his part in their toxic relationship. However, she has a pattern that I hope she breaks. That was not the last time that the cops were called on her.

These type of people aren't real believers in Jesus Christ. They don't follow the teachings of the Bible. And they make real followers of Christ look bad. As a Christian woman, I would never consider, let alone actually have sex with another man and my husband. She should have left this man, got a restraining order, or did whatever she needed to do to get away from her husband, if in fact she was a Christian. I'm sorry this happened to this family. But please don't judge all Christians as being this incredibly hypocritical.

Let's pause for a moment to reflect that Oklahoma wants to put chaplains in public schools replacing licensed counselors. Let's hope their vetting of pastoral care improves.

Counselors molest kids. Public school teachers molest kids more than another group even beating out catholic priests. So...who knows
