This one meets your extraordinary standard of “I was there.” Wonderful, and thank you.

The Todd engine is how I found J&L, and the steam and fortitude keeps me coming back.

Great work Rick, personally I'm in favor of the next locomotive taking on a more 'road locomotive" look (no saddle tank, front pilot, walk ways on the boiler etc.) keep up the good work.

There is a lot of hard work going on at the J&L... But Rick sounds like a kid on Christmas morning.

Can always set us up on a tripod and let it roll. :) With or without time-lapse.

Would yall consider building a turntable + engine shed for all six of your locomotives?
@kelvintorrence5994Ай бұрын
soc when are you going to start making steel there young man ????/
@YoungstownSteelHeritageАй бұрын
We won't make steel, but roll steel for sure. Maybe a year or year and a half.

A berk would be cool rick!

Isn't that welder actually ac to dc? ac power runs the motor which turns the dc generator for welding. Or do you have DC power in the engine house?
@YoungstownSteelHeritage2 күн бұрын
We have a diesel locomotive out back that makes 250 VDC to run the overhead crane, radial drill, welder and roll lathe.

If you could use some truck transport to move some equipment I'm sure my boss would allow me to help you out in that department .he would probably only require you to pay for fuel and I would volunteer my time. Just let me know.

Hope work on more making track longer idk how many passenger cars I mean small but powerful little engines should handle idk 3 or 4 cars. What u have barely enough track dead ends like huh, others have small gauge engines on KZbin they have track all over place. I’m not saying make your track side that big but mire rail then that run 58 with passenger cars just saying

People actually thought you were gonna rebuild 62 into a Berkshire.. Stupid
@seand7894Ай бұрын
At least at one point there were very real plans to cosmetically "superpower" it. Rick shared plans with a lot of people. Then, as he often does several times per week, changed his mind. The acquisition of the rolling mill and transitioning it into power for that is really why it's not happening, although it doesn't rule out him changing his mind again in the future and upgrading it.

@hamiltonsullivan6563 It was a horrible idea anyhow. Sometimes YSH do be huffing that steel mill exhaust a Lil too much

@@seand7894 You know me so well! 🤣 The original idea stemmed from 62 having lost its front end and thus giving us the opportunity to do something different. What would it look like without a steel plate front and a saddle tank. Steel has increased in price considerably since we did the 58 so why put $20,000 into steel plate when we already have three others that have the proper front ends. With the 225 psi boiler pressure and the lighter weight, 62 would be a lot quicker and more stable than 58 with an even greater percentage of weight closer to the rails. We still plan to make 62 a fully functioning traditionally styled locomotive. It just dropped down on the priority list.
