Exactly! It's understandable, I suppose, since the original Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland was released in 1939!!! But the homage to that film and the actors is woven beautifully through their arrangement. It's so rewarding when a reactor picks up on how brilliantly it was crafted. Kudos.

I never get tired of seeing people react to this. The song choice and arrangement is on point. PTX doing what they do so well with their transitions (especially that first one from Somewhere Over The Rainbow into Blown Away), and I think they all genuinely seemed to have a great time on it.

Todrick Hall's creativity and production is on another level. He's a Broadway star. Got his start by singing his order at McDonald's. The video went viral and he was invited to audition for season 9 of American Idol. Soooo much more...

You can always tell when Scott is enjoying someone else's performance because he can't resist looking at them and smiling. In this performance right at the end when Kirstie hits those beautiful final chords he just has to look down on her with that smile. Watch for it in other performances and you'll start noticing.

I think it is also that Kirstie, Scott and Mitch have been actual friends and making music for close to 2 decades now. This was not a studio built group. Those three were childhood friends.

I agree. One of my favorites because their transitions in mashup are phenomenal and their talent blows it away! If you liked this one, you might also like their mashup called "Home" (I think) that they did during quarantine. Some of the songs were the ones you commented about here but much much more. Difficult to tell that it was recorded separately.

Todrick Hall has an album "Straight Outta Oz" that has every track relating in some form to the basic story of the Wizard of Oz - sometimes only the name, like "Over the Rainbow" (which is a beautiful, sad, sweet video that has SUCH an amazing subtext storyline), and sometimes sneaky, like "Lyin' to Myself." My favorite, for the amazing pipes, is "Papi," featuring Nicole Scherzinger, who hits power notes that blow me away. My second favorite is "Dumb," which is a fairly scathing indictment of the music industry. "Water Guns" is heartbreaking.

My personal opinion only, but everything is better with Avi. I love that he gets to show us his classical training in this video. I have enjoyed every minute of his new album. Floating on a Dream. His song writing skills are so well developed.

21st Century Wizard of “Oz”. So punny and yet beautiful. And Avi singing Home is possibly my favorite thing Ive heard him sing. Id love to hear him do a full version. Thanks for watching with us Chris!

The ending is a real heart-puller, isn't it? If you're looking for similar creativity, (and you haven't seen it already,) I can recommend Voiceplay's 'Queen in Five Minutes.' The video concept is based on a real-life health scare their high tenor at the time, Earl, had. They took that and turned it into a very creative story, using Queen songs - it is of course amazingly performed and brilliantly arranged.

Kudos for recognizing their amazing and appropriate song choices that further the story. I would like you to react to Come Along and Say Something. You should definitely watch some Superfruit (Scott & Mitch side channel), particularly Defying Gravity. As in all Superfruit videos, be sure to watch all the way to the end for bloopers.

All the reactors do a kind of double take when Avi actually sings right at the end. A bad habit of Pentatonix which they also do with Matt today unlike both Homefree and Voiceplay who showcase their bass singers in different places of their phenomenally large vocal ranges.
