Penny how much boat fuel did you use on the trip ? Dis you need some dropped off or did you carry all of your own?
@DiscoverOzProduction4 жыл бұрын
the beerhunter 428lt in those conditions. We carry 350lt onboard and had dropped 100ltr near king gorge falls that we collected along the way. The route was on paper 500kms but due to the conditions we were forced to keep tacking out to sea a lot which by the time we arrived at Honeymoon Bay had added an extra 100kms to our journey that we had not calculated on. Not a trip for the faint hearted.

@@DiscoverOzProduction cheers penny, I just bought a place in Wyndham I know a few of the crew on the videos but I've only been up the coast in really big boats like the local pro barra boat. Will be buying a 7 meter plate boat soon and doing some boat camping on the coast. Love what you do 🙂

How much fuel did you carry and how much did you have left when you arrived at honeymoon
@DiscoverOzProduction5 жыл бұрын
Onboard we carry 350ltr in the belly tanks. We had a 60ltr fuel stash we picked up along the way. We rolled into Honeymoon Bay with 72ltts still.

@@DiscoverOzProduction done the trip to honeymoon and back once got they in 5hrs from wyndham was glass whole way there, way back different story 40km winds 15hrs of the day all driving done from 10 at night with no moon and no chartplotter, took a few days and glad to get back to dry land at the end. I fish wyndham to king George regularly and unfortunately the wind is one thing you have to put up with.

Micheal Davis yeah forecast was 5x days 10-15km winds so planned on taking our time and explore. Reality proved very different but still one hell of an adventure. Next three weeks 30-35kms winds meant we ended up putting the boat on the barge back to Darwin as we had to keep filming and conditions were worsening. Still would love to go back and do it all over again but.

Amazing anchorage for 5 days. Great viewing and Col's story, the white man is cheap towards Aboriginals then.

GGFCHMMAL yeah we felt it was a story that had to be told too. Great man. Great family. Great culture. We are proud that they would share it with us.

Great area that one only problem is not many places to hide from the weather
@DiscoverOzProduction5 жыл бұрын
Micheal Davis no that’s true. Luckily Bj studied the maps pretty well and had several safety spots pre picked for situations like what arose.

Any fear ? Any guns to protect yourself or family ? If not, why be there ?

Jerry Smith there is gear we carry that we don’t necessarily advertise for different reasons. But we wouldn’t recommend or practice ourselves travelling into an area like this unless you are fully equipped to care for yourself. 😉

Good on ye. Thot so. Here bears, lions , no problems, a snake or two . Colorado USA. Cold. Keep you gear handy. Great. Thanks
