As a single mom, I have been conditioned to think, I wasn’t in a position to work and homeschool my children. However I’m stepping out on faith and I will be learning with my children as well. I have a 6 year old , and a 4 year old. I’m so nervous and excited again thanks for the tips and thank you for giving me confidence Update 01/07/2024 Tomorrow’s our first day of homeschooling. I also start nursing school this year (nightshift program). I have a 4th grader and 2nd grader. When prayed as family for this moment and we are now doing it 😊. Thank you for this video again ! I loved homeschool. I was homeschooled in the 90’s, and my learning increased. I don’t blame parents for homeschooling these days: between the violence, shootings, bullying and politics-it’s the best option. This way you know your child is safe and learning what you want the child to learn as a parent.

I'm a grandmother and retired teacher. I am homeschooling my granddaughter to help out my daughter who has two younger ones. I enjoyed your video. I would like to offer a suggestion. I have found that it is helpful to introduce a subject that is new to both you and your child and set a little time out to learn something together. It gets the kids more involved and opens up their ideas about learning. Watching how they help you grasp a new concept gives you a clearer understanding of how they process information. My granddaughter and I are learning Morse Code as an addition to our regular curriculum. We are having fun with it.

Hello! My name is Monica and I am a new homeschool mom of 3 beautiful daughter’s. I am a certified school teacher and have been teaching/in education over 10 years now & I’m over it! I’ve been over it since COVID. I am on both sides of the fence (Teacher/Parent) so I see the ends & outs of it all. The educational system is so messed up. I withdrew my oldest (middle school 6th grade) the Thursday before spring break & I withdrew my youngest ( 2nd & 3rd graders) the day before the star test. I will not be returning this school year. I’ve been wanting to homeschool since the pandemic. I’ve done a lot of research and I’m ready! I was hesitant & fearful at first but it’s GO TIME now & I’m so excited to start this new journey with my family. I’ve prepared them & they are excited as well. I’m so glad I came across your video. My son is 4 and has social anxiety and just couldn’t grasp the traditional school setting. I had to take a step back and think about it, but the more I dwelled on it, the more I realized I was making the right decision withdrawing him from public school. WOW! Your advice is on point. I'm a new home 🏡 Mom! I started my daughter's lessons on August 15, 2022 and I must say it has been a journey already. However, you mentioned that you should pray before going into homeschooling, which is so important and I did just that before we started. I have a full time job where I work from home and sometimes it gets very demanding, but I make the time to ensure my daughter is taught more in the subjects she struggles in and then focus on the easier subjects she excels in. We definitely make it work and I'm definitely learning as well again about myself and what is the best way to teach and grow with my child. I could go on and on but I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! I am so glad that I came across this video. You honestly spoke directly to my heart and my spirit. This is my second video on homeschooling that I'm watching because I have 3 kids (ages 4,3 and 1) that are now pandemic babies and I am choosing to homeschool them. I am very nervous going into this, and yes I've already gotten negative feedback about what I should and should not do for my kids. My highest level of education is high school diploma. I was feeling so insecure about homeschooling and this video really reassured me that I am doing the right thing and to be gentle about it all and that there is no rush and we can learn at our own pace and reminded me that i need to be their Mother first and then their teacher. I have been more super focused and overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to homeschool them and trying to relearn the stuff myself to be able to try to help them. I feel like I have been slacking a little on the other millions of mom duties. I have been getting lots of books and workbooks and teaching them all kinds of amazing things and I need to make sure to make more time for fun Mommy time too.. not just always being so obsessed and focused on homeschooling. I have a 12 year old... 8 year old and a super crazy wild toddler. Any suggestions or help from anyone would be amazing and greatly appreciated 🙏

One tip, anything you do is a teachable moment for them. You don’t have to only use workbooks. Incorporate those house duties into your day too. That can learn those while you complete them. Reading ingredients, measuring things…those are the best ways to foster a love for reading and math. I have videos planned this month that I think you will really love. 💕 you’ve got this mama
