@@latest6082 Thank you. I have to admit that speaking section was the most difficult for me as well before the exam. So I consistently kept answering different types of questions. Not only from TOEFL but the basic questions in life, I tried to answer the way I would at my exam. I was patient with my mistakes, heard my recordings and saw what changes were needed. Recommendations - 1. TEMPLATES is a big one... I created my own templates with the help of TST PREP's resources. Half of the work is done with templates as it reduces the possibility of saying 'umm, uh' and pauses. 2. I took a month to learn and understand words. I acclimatized myself with words used in the GRE exam (this is not mandatory but I thought this extra step would help me, and it did) I was less confused about the meanings of paragraphs, I could use fancy words in my speaking, writing section. 3. TRANSITIONAL PHRASES provided by Josh are just fantastic. Using those phrases itself must have increased my grades on the speaking section. 4. Speak in your general tone, don't make it seem robotic. I had several pauses (but at the right places). 5. This section seems scary but trust me, this is not difficult at all. Even if you don't use fancy words or phrases, if your reasoning is clear along with one example, they will definitely pass you. Since you require 26 score, try to inculcate immaculate vocabulary but do it subtly. And work on phrases and GRAMMAR. All the best. I hope it goes well. Trust me, reading and listening is the one you need to look out for.

Hello! Thank you so much for your help. I would like to know if, in the TOEFL Writing Task 1, it is possible for the listening passage to support the points made in the reading passage, rather than always presenting an opposing viewpoint. Is it common for the audio to agree with the reading text, or is the opposing viewpoint the standard approach?

The lecture ALWAYS opposes the reading passage. This has been officially confirmed to me by a rep from ETS, "Our current messaging about the Integrated Writing task is that the lecture always opposes the reading passage in some way; there is no other relationship."

@TSTPrepАй бұрын
Hi there and good question! In general, try to have less than 5. Keep in mind, the most important thing is how many words you say per minute. The more verbal fillers you have, the fewer words. Ideally, you want to speak at about 160 words per minute, it's a lot, but if you want a 30 you will have to come close to 170 words per minute.

Hi there and thank you for asking. Your score depends on many factors. Typically, trying to take both sides of the issue will lead to a much lower score. Remember, it is asking you to choose one, not both. Also, when people try and argue both sides, they tend to repeat many words, which is one of the reasons such responses score lower.
