I got a 114 on toefl. 29 in speaking 30 in listening and reading, and 25 in writing. Ultimately it depends on how relaxed and confident you sound. Reduce the pauses and sound natural and you'll be good. These videos were very helpful. The test was actually not as tough as I anticipated so I would advice people to not stress.

@@松朗拉姆 1 month should be sufficient. In this time you should practice having conversations and speaking on different topics in english. I don't remember using advanced vocabulary during my speaking section. Writing section is where I think you should be using good vocabulary. Reading and listening are easy sections, just practice those sections every now and then by giving tests. I used bestmytest app to practice questions. I am not a professional trainer, brother. I don't know your competency in the English language as well. But I can tell that it's easy to score 90 with practice. You need to evaluate yourself first to know your weaknesses as most of us find it difficult to speak and write. So, for speaking, it needs confidence and practice, and for writing, it needs only writing in a structured way and practice. It's a lot easy as compared to what is portrayed. I hope and pray you will get a higher score.

Speaking speed is a crucial component of your score. You don't have to speak fast, but you have to speak at a good pace because word count is part of your score. You should aim to say 120 words in 45 seconds. That’s OK if you have 10-20 words less, that may affect your score.

Hi Josh, It is compulsory for toefl speaking task 1 to provide an example. Can I just say my response with reasons only and not give an example? could you please tell me?
@TSTPrepАй бұрын
It's up to you, actually. There are lots of ways to score well in the TOEFL Speaking, as long as you sound comfortable, confident, and natural when you speak (and that you answer the question).

It is really hard for me to even read your text aloud in just 45 seconds. The sample test you give is 140 - 150 words or so. How can I speak that fast? Is this really possible?
@TSTPrepАй бұрын
Speaking speed is a crucial component of your score. You don't have to speak fast but you have to speak at a good pace. You should aim to say 120 words in 45 seconds. That’s ok if you have 10-20 words less, but if you have 20+ words less, that may be a problem. You need to increase your word count per response.

Hi Josh, First of all thanks for all your videos. I only studied with your materials and my unofficial score: for R:25 and L:29. However, although I finalized my exam almost a week ago, today i received an email that my exam is going under "administrative review". What does that really mean?
@TSTPrep Жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting and sorry to hear about that situation. You can go to ETS' website and ask them directly, but usually, an administrative review means they need to double-check some information for security reasons, for example, your identification or test-taker's ID. Hope the issue gets resolved and sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Is it ok if you present 2 contrasting answers, like neutral point of view?
@TSTPrep3 ай бұрын
You can take a nuanced view if you like, but I strongly advise against it. Trying to argue both sides is almost always harder and more time-consuming, You don't get extra points for having a complicated idea, thus the best thing to do is choose one side and argue it.

If u finish 5 seconds earlier (speak for 40 secs instead of 45 secs), does it affect your score?
@TSTPrep Жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking and yes, if you finish earlier, in 30-40 seconds, it may affect your score. You should aim to finish your response in 43-45 seconds.

I feel like most of my students run out of time after they give their first reason and first example. If a student only gives one reason and one example of that reason, is that ok?
@TSTPrep3 ай бұрын
You can give two reasons or you can give one, it's up to you. I actually like to give one reason and one example but a lot of students find it difficult, so they prefer two reasons, totally up to you.

If I give an answer with mixed feelings, how much am I likely to score?
@inmaomg6388 Жыл бұрын
Don’t give a mixed feeling answer. Decide on if your for or against the topic, even if its not your true opinion. Make your point very clear and then give an explanation or examples
@TSTPrep Жыл бұрын
Your score depends on many factors. Typically trying to take both sides of the issue will lead to a much lower score. Remember, it is asking you to choose one, not both. Also, when people try and argue both sides, they tend to repeat many words, which is one of the reasons such responses score lower. In short, argue just one side. :)

How is my speaking score affected if I get cut off while saying the last 1-3 words?
@TSTPrep Жыл бұрын
There are many factors that account for your score in the TOEFL Speaking. If you finish earlier, in 30-40 seconds, it may affect your score. If you speak after the 45-second mark, the recording stops, the evaluator won't hear the last part and your response may sound incomplete. However, this is a small consideration. The most important thing is that you sound natural and comfortable when you speak while also answering the question.

@spg179 Жыл бұрын
@@muhammadhasnain242 Thanks! This is how I prepared and took the test. 1. I created an excel sheet for template of each task. Copied the template from GregMat and TSTPrep. Modified it using ChatGPT and then gave my personal touch (v Imp). 2. Did not have any strategies for Reading and Listening. Just familiarised myself with each question type. Practiced section by section. A few things that you might face during the exam - 1. You will be able to hear the voice from your neighbour's headphone, annoying. 2. You will be distracted by other people speaking. A few tips from myside - 1. You will have a hard time focusing. To prepare for this I put on PTE Test centre noise videos on KZbin while practicing. Maybe it might help. 2. Keeping a defined format that is customized by you and not generic for writing sections surely helps a lot. 3. I did not fully complete one of the speaking task, yet got a 29. So dont get discouraged. Have a bit of pace with intonation, I dont think its something you learn overnight though. 4. Results of TOEFL Go are pretty accurate. Dont panic, take a deep breath before starting the Speaking Section and the exam will finish even before you realize. All the best!
