toffee caramel shot part 2

Hi everyone,
so this video is a long time coming.
the part 1 is • home brewed toffee car...
so apart for being hammered this is a fun video. the turbo shots are lovely to drink especially when you play with them.
the hydrometer reads 17% but due to me working it out for 5 liters and it being 4.2 liters it seems like we got a full ferment and the sugar content was closer to 22%
that being said. lets have some fun. sorry in advance :P

Great to see you back Lee!! Thanks for all the simple, common sense non-purist advice. Been making my own beer from Coopers and Morgans kits since March, following your relaxed, no fuss, approach. No dramas, no hassle just lots of nice drinkable home brew beer nice and cheap and easy just like it says on your 'tin'. Just one thing - the background music on this video was a tad loud and obtrusive but apart from that it was a pleasure to view. Hey, thanks 👍 yeah I watched the video today. I edited it while a bit ... Hammered 😂 I tried getting all fancy by changing the audio on the mic. Lesson learnt best to do it in editing. 😂 Some times done is better than perfect

@@makinghomebrewwildandcheap Therein lies the problem with ultra tasty home brew... hic... Have you ever thought about low alcohol home brew? ;) I have successfully used an old heated seed propagator tray (2ft x 1ft - which was destined for the tip) layered with an inch of sand to help keep the fermentation bucket warm and wrapped/topped it with a jacket of radiator foil insulation to help. We like to sleep cool so don't heat the house at night and it gets quite cold but even so it's worked perfectly and fermentation has been fine averaging at 20 deg and I'm bottling after 10 days because I'm lazy. I'm reusing 1litre tonic/bitter lemon bottles for this and keeping them in an insulated picnic box once full. I've also given up farting around priming bottled with funnels and teaspoons of sugar (I actually use dextrose) in favour of making a solution to the required specification for 23 litres and gently stirring that into the fermentation bucket just before bottling. This saves a lot of time :) So far - no nasty brews, no hassle and lots of perfectly drinkable, cheap beer. All down to you! :)

Thanks for confirming that the recipe actually works and doesn't stall or anything. I really need to try this, as I've had turbo yeast that boasts it can ferment 8 kilograms of sugar in 25 liters of liquid.

Turbo yeast does work, you just need to keep it warm and be patient or throw a bunch of finnings in it 😜

I did a surgarwash with Turbo yeast and I got a 0.994 from that and that should be good yum. You do a great job thank you stay safe 👍👏

I do usually get 990 but I'm thinking since it cleared but was still very slowly fermenting there was a bit more than 20% worth of sugar in it. Still, saves a bit of back sweetning and it certainly packed a punch 😂 cheers 🙂

That is a good question. In theory yes, although I do t think anyone has tried brewing for small cakes 😁

@@fotballfredrik1 i guess it can. Apart from when I knock the demijohn on the last bottle, it never causes me many problems. You can always transfer it to another container ( a cheeky racking 😜) if it's causing problems.

I see, well my goals were to stay the same over size( as I hate clothes shopping 😂) but mainly just liking what I saw when I looked at myself. Editing videos does make you look at yourself alot 😜. For my goals both had to work together but good food is key. I balance everything roughly so I basically drink as much or as little as I choose. Usually one good session 😜
