Tofu60 Redux Build

My modded Wooting 60HE gaming keyboard: Tofu60 Redux case in e-white aluminum, Wooting polycarbonate plate, lekker switches lubed with Krytox 205g0, Durock plate-mount stabilizers, and Drop DCX Black-On-White Keycaps.
I didn't go through the effort of holee modding the stabs this time, but I may implement this in the future as it would likely reduce the wire ping. Lekker switches are just irredeemably bad; there is a significant degree of shifting between the top and bottom housings and a large amount of stem wobble, both of which contribute to overall inconsistent sound signatures and a clacky, high-pitched return-from-press sound.
The Wooting keyboard's functionality, however, is simply unparalleled for esports titles. And after covering up the horrid switches with the marvelous DCX keycaps, my overall impression of this keyboard has brightened considerably.

Somehow I came across your channel, nice build btw. Just a personal opinion about your audio recording setup, the video aspect is neat and clean so I have no comments on that, but I would recommend you to get your audio recorder off the desk, since the low end frequency of the keyboard resonating with the desk with each stroke is also being recorded into the microphone which masks out the actual sound of the keyboard. Try placing the microphone at a 45 degree angle facing the keyboard from the top off from the desk if you can. This will create a cleaner recording without the rumbling low end frequency. I'm just a stranger passing by so you can ignore this comment, but I hope for the best!

hey just a question are the durock plate mounted stabs better than the screw jns that come with the wooting 60he module

@@xxqnr screw-ins are my preference, but there do exist some pretty decent clip-in stabs (ex. TX). Plate-mount is just shit

No pcb foam or silicone? And just the thin redux foam in bottom of case? Sounds good, i have same setup give or take.. i think i over foamed lol

I did end up using the pcb foam, and yes just the thin redux case foam. I’m planning on getting rid of it and just heavily tape modding instead, don’t think the foam does much.

I agree, maybe the original foam from the wooting case for a metal plate that pings. Yeah I just did 3 layers of tape

Any issues with getting the Durock plate mounted stabs to fit in?

The durock stabs fit fine. I do think mine ended up sounding terrible; they definitely require some more effort with tuning.

just curious but you did you not screw in the brass weight to the case and also did you not use the 2 standoffs? I find that the PC plate can bend a lot so think the standoffs help...
