This video is really good man. I think once kanye reaches that stage that Shia did, where he realizes that his ego is becoming his downfall, he will be healthier and release better music

Cage deserved a shout there, the co-writer and co-star of Maniac, he was actually the first stepping stone to them meeting, Shia had already started working with Cage directing a music video and had plans to make a movie about Cage's turbulent backstory, Cudi then reached out to Cage and they collabed on the song 'Maniac', this led to him and Cudi meeting and then making the short film.

It’ll hit Kanye like it did Shia. Kanye’s got a bigger ego and many more eyes on him, so his transformation’s going to take a bit longer; although I feel like he’s moving in the right direction. He’s got a good heart.

Ego death doesn't mean you lose your madness and the awareness that you have immense power to fly. It just means that now you know when to land and when to fly and you know how to manage your genius. Honestly Ye has done a lot of positive for the world.

I doubt youtube will let me post the link. I'll attempt to in another comment, so if there's no other comment from me after this one then it got removed. In that case the title of the video is "kanye west at fat beats Aug 1996." It's on youtube. Just copy and paste the title and search. You should see it pop up.
I liked your video but… kanYe is the definition of ego death. I don’t think you really know what it means - ego death. Kanye has died and reformed psychically countless times over his life in the spotlight - that’s obvious if you’re paying attention. Conjecture about his mental wellness and his psychic state is just that, guessing. We don’t know what’s actually going on with him or the state of his being, so theorizing about it is just ego play on our side, acting like we can see into him and diagnose his person. Kanye puts on a performance through his music and public acts, we don’t know him. And likewise, while Shia may present a certain way in filmand interviews, we do not actually know where hes at or whats going on with him internally. Anyways - cool analysis of these two crazy geminis, keep up the good work

Very well said . I’ve found it’s rare even amongst hardcore Kanye fans to find people who are aware of the whole performance art angle and his long time interest in doing that kind of art in the form of public acts. I think the idea of doing pre planned public acts as part of his art is misconstrued as believing that’s he’s basically method acting his entire life and pretending to be someone he isn’t . I don’t believe that exactly but I think for example when you look at the “I like Hitler” comment on Alex Jones in 2022 is something he had planned out since 2018 when the album Ye was originally going to be called Love Everyone or Hitler. There’s definitely a pre planned performative nature to things he says and does in the public sphere at times and I think if people understood the points he was really trying to make with his controversial statements such as “slavery for 400 years” instead of just running with easy narrative he’s an evil , crazy or dumb racist off his meds .. well it’d be understood more widely he’s a genius in general not limited to just the realm of creative thinking in only music, business or fashion. I know neither of us know him personally so it’s hard to speculate as if we know every motive but just curious if you have had the thought that perhaps this nitrous addiction thing is another public act of sorts? This being an act would be pretty wild because of the legal ramifications but I see signs of this being something he manufactured a bit and this Vultures era of Kanye who seems to have fallen off the rails is a more ambitious performance.

I'm not if you realize that Kanye has always had an ego and this has never had and "ego death". As a Kanye fan most of us can see that his ego led to early success and eventual decline. That's literally the point of the video. No ego death = no rehabilitation of self.

@@juju-vl7oj Right. I think it's hard to take the things Kanye does in the public eye at face value, he has a way of creating chaos then resolving it in real time, the media encapsulates moments but takes them out of context, so unless you are following what he is doing over time you won't pick up on any nuance. Love everyone and Love Hitler are the same idea after all, but it's a tough thing to approach, not something everyone is willing to grapple with. The nitrous story is funny, idk. It's awfully convenient timing simply as a means to garner attention around a release, and he seemed sharp to me in the vod I watched of the performance Y$ did in Korea. It's one of the reasons I love kanye, he keeps us on our toes, but like you say it's hard to speculate on it - of course, it's predictable the way media and social commentary runs with these sorts of stories, especially stories surrounding kanye with the level of controversy he manages to stir, and I'm sure he's well aware of that too, so if he wants to use media and internet hysteria to push a sort of narrative about himself it seems well within his wheelhouse. Either way I'm glad to follow along, hear the music and see how Ye's story pans out in the public eye. It's fun :)

I think it's hard to say since for example when all the absolutely criminal stuff was going on like freezing his bank-account and bargaining with his kids if he gives public insider info or get's to see them. It is hard to say if that's from morality from having had an ego-death or if it is ego to be the saviour that opens it all up to the public. Well tried to. Nonethless I have noticed that people do not often catch at all what he is saying, partly because he speaks in a bit jumbled manner where he stays in a topic but this thing comes to his mind and he just says it without giving a context how it relates to the topic (so sometimes people think he switched topic or just wave past it). Sometimes he just in general talks kinda leaving out explaining the context he is talking about in detail and people don't care to think what he meant. Sometimes people simply doesn't know the unsaid refference what ties what he says to the topic. A clear example was when he said the Hitler thing, I immidiatelly knew what he meant because he had been asked about Many people who he had problems with and he Very often answered I love them/I got nothing but love for them. Then you can think ok he is highly religious keeping an own church so obviously it comes from the first thing of christianity, love your fellow man (everyone). While he meant it in that way, it doesn't take away that he was trying to be controversial for having been used to get heard by doing that. It just doesn't work when indrusty isn't bailing you out from it, but you are going against them so they fuel the flames. There was one huuuuge thing he said in the Lex podcast which I was flabbergasted that seemed to go over everyones head. They talk about guns or something and he says you can kill 10 people, 100 people, 1000 people. Then stays in the topic but jumps with the speaking and starts to tell how he once felt like a lesser man than people around him because he hadn't done something he didn't specify, something they had to do to be in that high spot and how he came over the feeling and saw it as a good thing he didn't do it. Then he again jumps, but stays at the topic and says how the labels are keeping the artists in check and to held certain opinions by being able to send them into prison when they want for forever.. by videos of them doing illegal stuff. Ok so he said that to get into so high powerfull position the labels makes you off someone while filming it, to extort you, to keep on a leash and he never did it hence why he can even talk so freely (propably got away from it because he was so close to Jay). Then next day only thing he says to the paparazzis is that atleast I never killed anybody... I was so dissapointed that nobody was talking about it when he clearly tells it so that is meant by it. It's kinda work but when you figure out the way he speaks it isn't that hard to understand, but more so makes you frustrated that the interviewers are not usually caught up and do not ask the right question to clarify what was meant with some key things where he could expand more. I don't know if he just communicates like that (it seems so from more lowkey pods) or it's so he does not need to say everything super straight and get assasinated or something for it (but maybe a bit both).
