....on the other hand I heard a good explanation of TOGA in plain English with a slight Italian accent: Very well done...I've been looking for an explanation of TOGA and now it has clicked...everything else I can find in the FCOM. Thanks You!

So TOGA button does advance the thrust levers using some sort of motor, right? I'm building my own 737-800 sim from scratch and it's great to know how I have to set up my own force feedback motors when I install them. Another question is when and how do you disengage TOGA? Do you always have to do it when you get airborne or just when you have an aborted takeoff? And, finally, what is the thrust and reverse thrust levers reaction? Does A/T DISENGAGE advance reverse thrust levers and retract throttles, disarm the A/T toggle switch or nothing like that? Great to see a new Captain bringing more knowledge to the table!

Hey, I hope you are doing great! Nice to read you are building your own B737 Sim, Have you seen the video of the 737 Simulator I made a few months ago? A very good friend of mine built that sim. Video Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIiui2mHl9aSpa8 Yes, pushing the TOGA switches will advance the thrust levers. We don't manually disengage the toga mode it happens automatically. The A/T disengage switch only disengage the A/T, it does not close it and the reversers are not activated with the A/T disangage switch. Let me know if you still have any questions!! Have a great day!

@@PILOTCLIMB Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look for that video and many thanks for the answers! May I ask you just a final question? Do reverse thrust levers, pedals and even the yoke return to neutral positions when you release them or do people add springs to those in sims just to simplify control? Hope you're doing great yourself, too!

Do you also have a A320 type rating? Airbus has developed a new GA mode for the A320neo family with CFM LEAP-1A engines. The new mode is called MAN GA SOFT. That means that if you move the levers to TOGA, you have 5 Sec to active the SGA Soft Go Around mode by moving the levers back to FLX/MCT position. If you dont do that the TOGA mode will be maintained. When the SGA is activated the Vertical speed will be around 2000ft to 2300ft per minute. It depends on aircraft config like Flap Setting ect. This is a new mode but i dont know if it is or will be availible for PW1100G engines and if it will be availible for the V2500, CFM-56 aswell. Also no information if aircrafts like A330 may also get this new mode. I thought this info suits well to the TOGA topic.

Many thanks for watching and for another great comment!! I don't have a Type Rating on the Airbus, I only have the Boeing 737 300 to 900 type rating. I wish you a great day!!

Have you heard of the Delta 191 crash? The last word the Captain says is TOGA. What does it mean in that context?

Good Day Capt, can i ask you one question.... What it is mean within 1 dot for localizer captured/established?is there any remark on PFD if localizer or glide slope has been captured/established?...
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Hey, many thanks for watching and the comment! When you are one dot before getting established on the Localizer means that, normally, you are 0.5 degrees off of the localizer. The localizer deviation dots are indicated on the pfd where the localizer is. If look on the upper part of your pfd you find the FMA, that tells you what automation mode are active or engaged. I made a video where I performed an Autoland with a simulator, in that video you can clearly see when we get established on the Localizer and on the glideslope. Click the link below and you will watch it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laCnZWaprc2neLc Let me know if you still have any questions.

@@PILOTCLIMB Good Day Capt, first thank you so much for your reply. I already watch your video with autoland cat 3 Localizer and Glideslope (pink) diamond should always in the center of yellow line(vertical line for localizer and horizontal line for glide slope) ? Is it any deviation allowed for example horizontal yellow line slightly above the pink diamond?

I have a question. I fly cessna grand caravan with Garmin G1000 suit. I haven't tried a missed approach by using TOGA. I know for sure that by pressing TOGA on grand caravan, autopilot gets disengaged & autothrottling is not avaialbe on my aircraft. I want to know if the autopilot gets disenged, can the aircraft still pitch up to Flight Director guidance automatically? And does TOGA disengage AP on all the aircrafts or it varies on different aircrafts?
@leonegentile60813 жыл бұрын
I heard that if you push TOGA switches twice you have the maximum available thrust, whereas as you said, if you only press them once you have around 98% of the power available. Is that true? Thanks captain
@PILOTCLIMB3 жыл бұрын
Another great question!! That is true, if you push toga once during the go aroud you won't get full thrust, if you push it twice full thrust is provided.

Question: what if you accidentally push toga button? Is there any switch to disengage it?

Great question!! You can always disconnect the Auto Throttle! This will stop the thrust lever to increase power...

The way I do it is to disconnect the A/T, move throttles to idle and apply braking. You may have to move throttles to advance and then move them quickly to idle.
