Reading about the gradual movements back towards traditions of the liturgy and communal prayer, this church is nothing short of a miracle in the United States. I am so so so overjoyed just seeing this! NEVER STOP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

God bless Fr Illo and Star of The Sea. If it wasnt for this kind, traditional, authentic, warm man and this beautiful church and most reverent liturgy, I would not be a returned Catholic discerning vocation. I stumbled into EF Mass at Star in late 2017 after several years fallen away. 11:30 gave me just enough time to wrap up my overnight shift, shower, and drive to church. 2018 I got religious with my attendance, dressing properly, frequent confession, and am now discerning vocation and getting confirmed in Easter, and I have Star and Fr Illo to thank. If I'd known this Catholicism.. I would have never left!

Jesus ascended east of Jerusalem. The angels told the apostles that he would return the same way they saw him ascend. I think he would come from the east. Why not look for Him in that direction. Thank you Father. Beautiful church.
