Fallout 3 Tutorial Megaton to Rivet City EASY (Skip Following His Footsteps and Galaxy News Radio)

This is the fastest and easiest way to reach Rivet city from Vault 101 or Megaton. This can be done immediately at the start of the game, and will allow you to skip 2 of the first quests.

Recently started a new playthrough and wanted to make the quickest optimal build, and I needed the intelligence bobblehead ASAP. With this I got to rivet city with no problems. Even managed to get some early loot from Super Mutants because Caravan guards were fighting em. Thanks

this is super helpful despite the 3 super mutants that somehow chased me nearly all the way to the city despite me following your exact footsteps lol. thankfully I remembered I had a missile launcher so that helped a ton

I had to find something after getting halfway to Rivet City through the Metro system only to find that DC is closed off on the surface, and then you have to deal with dozens of ghouls in the tunnels that take tons of ammo to kill. Even sniper rifle hits to the head that take Super Mutants out with one shot don't work After using 15 stimpacks, Med-X, Jet and Buffed Out to get past 10 of them under Falls Church, I'm still facing dozens of these beasts that attack 3-4 at a time. I can't take 20 steps without another group hissing in the background. There's gotta be a break in the action at some point. This coming from someone who played Ultimate Doom and lived to tell the tale. I'm pretty well leveled up so I'd probably see more opposition taking this route, but I can handle Super Mutants. I cleared out a whole section between Falls Church and Metro Central. Women and children can walk those streets in peace.

Yeah I really wish that we could travel through DC on the surface. The tunnels are pretty difficult to navigate, and there are lots of ghouls. I recommend that you just follow the western bank of the river as I did in this guide, as then you can avoid enemies, and you will not have to even go inside DC. Thanks for watching!

I appreciate it bro. I did all the quests up until this point. Like the radio quest and following in your foot step quest. They required me to go underground and when it said to go to rivet city next I had a feeling I had to go back underground and I was not having it😂 to many ghouls. It’s so annoying enemy after enemy down there.

I did not even knew there was intercom on the tower and thought the subway and the area was all of Rivet city. Took me 2 days to clear out subway and supermutants. Thanks a lot bro ❤

I play on very hard first try runs every time. 2 years too late but fallout will never die. Tip for anyone who might read this you can actually swim a lot more than you think and when you cross the river just swim around the building and use that wall as cover from the mutants and centaurs.

Once you cross the river you can sneak past the supermutants and stay on land, if you don't go towards the Jefferson Memorial like in the video (there's another camp of supermutants on land you need to avoid, but there's enough cover to hide from them).
