Hello, I'm between Suzuki 6HP and this Tohatsu 6HP, is there any reason why you didn't go with Suzuki? What do you recommend?

Hello. I can't say which would be best between the Tohatsu vs Suzuki as this is my first ever outboard. I chose the Tohatsu after doing research and seeing they had a good reputation etc and the company i was purchased it from had 5* reviews. I didn't look into Suzuki unfortunately so I couldn't really help. The outboard I've got has been fantastic and it's only been used in sea water, I just make sure I flush it after every trip. If you go for a Tohatsu and are in the UK give Bill Higham a call and let them know you've seen this video. They might be able to work something out for you 😀 good luck and let me know on which you decide to get

You still like it? I need to get a new motor for my 14ft jon boat. I had a 10hp evinrude but it took a crap on me last weekend.

Yeah great engine and always starts within 2 pulls. All I've done is the service after the first 10 hours and it's still like new. I wish I had gone for the 10hp but lifting it down the ramp or from a carpark would be difficult on my own. Me wishing I'd gone for the 10hp is because I'd like a little more speed. The 6hp sits at around 14/15mph on the River on my kaboat

those stupid tiny styrofoam balls went everywhere and were in every crevice of my tohatsu when I opened it
