The laundry drain was definitely backing up. When you pull the toilet there was a musical sound I recognize from a washing machine. You could see soap suds coming up out of the closet opening. This was definitely backing up from the use of the laundry as well.

I learned to cut the center funnel out before you use the ring from Steve. No leaks 3 years later. Over the summer, I fixed my friends toilet that had the funnel and leaked. That one is still good too.

That Blue thing is a flange repair kit called "HydroSeat Stainless Steel Toilet Flange Repair". The wax goes underneath and then the top acts as the seal to the toilet

Hydroflange isn’t bad imo, it was just installed improperly. It needs a wax seal in between the old flange and the hydro flange

That is a Danco Hydoseat flange fix. It is supposed to have a wax between it and the old flange. I have never had a problem with them. Looks like they either forgot the wax or the gap was too big.

@@IcelanderUSer the black part in the center is the seal. Per instructions, it only needs a wax on top of the old flange. I do like to add a second one on top of the Hydroseat.

Its probably just backed up ive seen this on many cast iron systems snake em all the time. Sometimes we have to cut sections out to clear it and we put it back unless it leaks then we replace it. The iron rusts up and slows the flow of waster and air

The homeowner said they ran several loads of laundry that morning with no issue. The water could have been draining slow enough to get into the crawlspace but not fast enough to get on the floor.
