Hi just found this older video...I really like the punched edge for the binding hinges...lovely idea and it ensures they can be adhered onto the outside of a page with blithe impunity, instead of needing to be tucked away inside a pocket and hidden! Thanks so much for the ideas you share...Dixx

So pretty! I just sat down today and put “toilet paper craft ideas” into search bar and your little gem came up. I’ve always thought there has to be something useful to do with TP instead of all that paper being wasted. Never in a million years would I have thought it could turn into such a beautiful piece of art!! Must have taken many days to make!! Sure would love a tutorial on this especially the binding part. Can you direct me to a place to learn this?

This journal was created for a journal swap a few years back. I am hoping to get a turorial made. The binding is the stack the deck binding, and also some of the pages are bound in by glueing to a doily.

I can't quite get how you bound this mini. Some pages look like they're held to the next page with decorative binding, but others I can't quite make out. Wish you had described how you did the binding. Love this little album. Good for you!

MsStuffgalore I created this and actually made it up as I went along to make it turn out more like a journal. It was fun to create. You just take what you know and make it work out how you want it to function.

+Sonya Saville I do different things. Sometimes I spray the paper with coffee, sometimes a glimmer mist with an ink dye mixed together. I just experiment with different things until the paper turns out to look the way i want for the project. Your own creative style will develop as you create. Thanks for the comment.

We just helped our sister-in-law 'step into' instructional videos. The first encouragement I would give you, is just naturally explain what you are doing as you do it. As if I was sitting in the room and asking you questions. Also, last night a mentor on a webinar was saying that, when you are wondering how/what to say, just remember back when you were starting out. What questions did you have? How did you feel? What 'baby' steps did you take? When I see your videos, which are like 'craft candy' for me :) , I feel like - "Whew! that's HUGE! How does she even do that?" Then I think, "I am sure it's easier if I could break it down into steps…what ARE the steps?" Perhaps that helps?

A signature refers to one of the groups of pages that are folded in half together.

Okay, read on down the comments and you used the Stack the Deck binding but not on the open edges, so you much have cut a portion of one side off to do that. Clever.

Would like to know how you attached your little journals. I heard you say you used a paper doily to attach it to the pages, but wondering how you attached the journal to the doily. I have saved your mini as a favorite and have watched it several times. One of the nicest I've seen on You Tube. You were able to pack a lot into that little toilet paper mini. I'm now a subbie and look forward to seeing more of your work.

Here I am again...stalking your video. I'd like to ask you what is the name of the threads/yarn that you have attached on flowers and paper clips? I've heard someone call it Eyelash? yarn? I checked Michaels and Hobby Lobby looking through the yarn goods and just don't really know what I'm looking for. Also...Please tell how you found and print out those itty bitty photo/images! Again...your talent is endless. I've made a few little journals...and feel like I did such a good job..and then I look at your videos. {hang my head in shame} lol..looking forward to step by step videos for the process in creating from you!

Gayle Fox Hi Gayle, I went into the yarn and crochet areas in crafts stores and picked out the ones that looked fringey or stringy. The skeins are all multicolored. I have no idea what eyelash trim is either. All of my skeins no longer have their paper bands on them. So I cannot identify them for you. They last a long time. I resize the images before I print them out to make sure they are the size that I need for where I want to use them. I enjoy reading your comments. They make me smile and giggle a little. :)
