Nice! Small nitpick though. At 3:50 "ijo walo pi uta" is incorrect. "pi" regroups the modifiers, it's like putting brackets around the following words. If there is only one word after, it changes nothing and shouldn't be used, so it should simply be "ijo walo uta". Another example: "ilo kalama suli" is "big tool of sound" (a big instrument), but "ilo pi kalama suli" is "tool of big sound" (a loud instrument). The example translations are alright, but it's important to remember that these are not set in stone, can mean different things in different context and any of those can be described in toki pona in different ways.

Please make a video about the 'Vai' language spoken in parts of Liberia and Sierra Leone. This language has its own unique writing system which is one of the very few writing systems of Africa which did not originate from the Arabic or Latin writing system.I didn’t find any video of this language in this channel. Besides some insights by jan Ke Tami (@IamSamys) and others in the comments section here, I'm going to add my own! ----------------------------------------------------- 0:00 / 2:49 Names should be preceded by head nouns to indicate what type of thing the name is referring to (most commonly "jan " for typical humans). 0:27 We have joke words that deviate from the standard 14 phonemes mentioned (e.g. Pingo and yupekosi), but they're just meme words for Toki Pona anw 1:08 Sonja Lang once made a sign language called "toki pona luka" that copy signs one by one with Toki Pona's 120 or so words, but jan Olipija said this ain't good for sign languages (since sign languages are different in its modality compared to oral languages), so they made "luka pona" designed as a sign language based on Toki Pona. 2:17 Officially in pu (Toki Pona: The Language of Good), the numbers are just "wan" (one), "tu" (two), and "mute" (many). Even so, Tokiponists extend this number system for convenience and included other words and meanings for the number system like "luka" (hand, "five"), mute ("twenty") and ale (all, "hundred"). Nice! This is an above-average video about toki pona. In case anyone is interested, there are some notes and minor corrections for this video: 1:47 sitelen suwi is inspired by a _lot_ of things, but the association with hieroglyphs is made more for sitelen pona, whereas sitelen suwi often gets associated with Mayan writing 2:05 "su" is meant to be a series of books containing illustrated stories, starting with Oz (the next book is currently being made) 2:19 all of this is entirely correct, but I want to note that a more common way to refer to quantities is "wan" (1), "tu" (2), "mute" (many) out of a preference to contextually refer to the kind of quantity there is and what meaning it has in that context, rather than concentrating on an overly specific number 2:33 Big big big caveat here: None of these are *_*the*_* translation for the English phrases, nor would they get translated only into the English phrases 3:00 "lon" does not mean "yes", there is no direct equivalent for the English "yes". Sounds like Spanish but without the letter R. Also, I somewhat feel like W could've been replaced with V, but kept the w sound, it's just aesthetically more comfortable because I genuinely feel like it's okay to have V without Y but you can't have W without V and Y, you can't have W and Y without V, and you can't have W and V without Y.

I'm pretty sure it sounds like Spanish because the person in the video is a Spanish speaker. Also, "W" for the [w] sound makes more sense than "V", most languages with the [w] sound use "W". Also, "W" is the same as IPA [w], just like "J" is the same as IPA [j].

Hawaiian has W but no V. Tagalog also. Hanging W instead of V makes it look more like an island language. Japanese also doesn't have V but has W (they have their own writing system but sometimes it can be written in the alphabet "Romaji"). There is a new way to write the syllable "vu" in Japanese, ヴ, but that's just a new form of ウ ("u"), and it's rare and only in foreign words, and Japanese people still don't pronounce it as a V (it's usually pronounced as a "b").

This is the disadvantage of the phrasebook this video presents. Nose can simply be "nena". This describes any "bump", but if it's clear from context that you're speaking about someone's face, "nena" will be enough, and if it's not, then you'd describe it further. Like, what is a nose? It's a bump of the face, it's one of the things you inhale air with, it's the part of your body above your mouth

Conlangs are too silly to become even somewhat practical for communication lol, we can just agree on English already, it is relatively one of the easiest languages to learn

Toki pona isn't intended to be an auxiliary language like English (to ease communication between speakers of different languages). The language is more of a philosophical/artistic project and thought experiment. It appeals to a specific community of people who enjoy using it because it's fun! The language has only 120-140 words and very simple grammar, making it very easy to pick up but changing the way you communicate in ways that are very intriguing.
