But if you enrolled in their class you’d be blown away. I just started it and there is so much, Andy answers questions right away. You have access to their Anki decks which correspond to your progress and Yuki’s pronunciation. It’s more than worth it if you can try that sometime.

I don't have the book, but the way it was written on the screen looked like Mr. B was calling Mr. Ando a liar to Mr. A. I guess it's possible that Mr. Ando popped into their convo and called Mr. B a liar, but all the comments seem to be ragging on Mr. A unfairly as the one who said "uso" :P

ね is used in german slang aswell in the same manner. Its also pronounced the same. "Es ist heiss, ne?" would be "its hot, right?"
I've never sat through a 50 min video unless it was a movie . The time stamps helped and your pace was perfect as always ! (day 2 of my revision )

I just got to say, bananas are sweet. The longer they are left to ripen, the greater the sugars develop in the banana. They're delicious. Don't eat bananas too early. Let them sit a couple of days.

Thanks for the vids, pretty handy so far! I think the english usage of "huh" could fit as a good translation of ね. "apples are sweet huh". It also seeks confirmation but using "right" in that way typically implies a certain degree of uncertainty in the speaker, "apples are sweet, right?" that "huh" doesn't. And of course right after I write this comment you use huh as a translation for ね in the party example lol

I saw ね、ここいいい?when someone pointed to a seat and found out it was used as "Can I sit here?" or "Is this good?". It took forever for me to figure that out. Of course now I see this lesson!!

I've been reviewing chapter 2 lately because I forgot how ではありません worked. And the alternative じゃありません. Reviewing here with this video helped me find it again. But I thought I'd note it's loosely mentioned in the Noun + じゃない section of Genki I v3 on page 63 of the text book if anyone else ends up looking for it. I really love this playlist a lot for when I'm reviewing my textbook lessons. Excellent work. Thank you very much.

I've become cautious about textbooks since Japanese people tend to think the sentences used in them sound unnatural in spoken Japanese, so I'm SO happy that you go through a textbook and make adjustments and corrections where necessary!

these videos are incredibly helpful, thankyou for uploading them. some of the most difficult things as a beginner have been a lack of "why" for using certain words and especially particles, and you do an excellent job of not only spelling that out, but also providing comparable english context for comparison. I also really appreciate your slow and articulate delivery. listening to examples of native japanese dialogue, it is spoken so lightning fast, seemingly without word breaks, that it is very difficult for a beginner to even parse which words are being spoken, let alone what they mean

I watch a lot of anime and play a lot of JRPG's with the Japanese audio and the two combined have helped me understand what the actual translation is. Not that I don't always trust the localizers, but it's nice to understand the literal meaning of the language.

I've been wanting to learn Japanese for a while now, but my high school doesn't teach it. The college I want to go to might teach it but that's still a year or two off, and it is hard for me to learn using random apps and such without a proper teacher guiding me. These videos are amazing and go through step by step slowly which helps me comprehend a lot better, so thankyou for putting your time and effort into these :)

I can't thank you enough for these amazing videos you are doing. I've had highschool online classes in Japanese but I learned next to nothing in comparison to a quality subscription based Japanese learning app a year back before it became unavailable in the general region I live in. A year later after highschool I decided to pick back up Japanese and bought Genki. I decided instead of college I would learn on my own like others and pass at least the JLPT 4 and to hopefully be proficient enough to get translation jobs. After highschool I found you and have learned at a pace I've never been able too before. Thank you so much.

So glad I found this content, I've learned a lot of Japanese in 2 videos, thanks man, and as a Brazillian, I was surprised to see that NE has the same use in Brazillian Portuguese and Japanese, it's the exact same thing, we also use in Portuguese to seek agreement or confirmation, the pronunciation in Portuguese is a bit more open but anyways that makes it easier to remember how to use it since it's the same as my native language, Japanese is awesome.

I am feeling very called out! I have been hung up on Lesson 3 for about 2 weeks (self-studying japanese). Unloading all the new Kanji was a bit overwhelming, but we are making progress!
